The Thread You've All Been Waiting For...

Alias.

The best TV show ever? I really think so.

Season 1, was just amazing, I'd never seen a show like it.

It was full of great action, had an amazing twisty turny storyline, but one thing it excelled at was making you give a shit about the characters.

What they go through, how they seperate their working lives from their personal.

How they deal with having to constantly lie to the people they love. It ended one a fantastic cliffhanger, one of the best season enders ever.

Eagerly awaiting season 2, when it finally started it was so much better in every way. They took the incredibly brave move of turning the entire show on it's head, and destroying everything you thought would happen, and basically what the show had been about until that point. The epsidoe was "Phase One" surely, they couldn't do better? Until the S2 finale, the best fight scenes in the history of TV, and a cliffhanger so spectacular it made me feel sick at the thought of having to wait 8 months or so for the new season.

Season 3. Well, again, it completely turned the world of Alias upside down. It's half way through now, and I just can't wait to see what they do. In the 13 episodes shown so far, it still surprises me. This season has been particularly hard on the characters, it really makes you care about them.

I'm looking forward to appearances by Ricky Gervais, to go along with people such as Rutger Hauer, Roger Moore, Vivica A Fox, Ethan Hawke, Christian Slater, Isabella Rossellini and more. Quentin Tarantino also has a recurring role.

The actors are extremely talented, with the majority being theatre actors who have all recieved critical acclaim.

What else can I say? I just love it.

If you'd like to discuss what you've seen so far, or what you think, please do!

Please mark your spoilers in white text!

Edited for horrific typo's.

Actually Laine. Are you feeling OK?

Weve had a FIlm/TV folder for a week or so now, and you havent started an Alias thread yet.

Bloody hell, I knew it would be a waste of time.

If nobody has seen it, download the bloody thing!

Or buy season 1, 6 discs for £30 from Asda.

Isnt it just Buffy with Guns? ;)

Die.

Right now.

Please.

Bastard.

No. It isn't. U-1 dismissed it for ages until I forced him to watch it, now he loves it.

Please don't view it like that.

Right then.

She has lots of different Alias' so nobody sees the real her.

Nobody recognises her because she deals with different people all the time.

In fact, there have been episodes where she's been recognised, and really good they are too. She is known to people, but she doesn't go ater the same people every episode does she?

As I said, it's to disguise how she looks in real life.

I mean, you have a security camera picture of a girl with ass length blonde hair, in a rubber dress, with tons of make up on.

You wouldn't conect that to someone who looks like every day Sydney would you?

For example, she'll pretend to be a Vegas showgirl to hack into the casino computer systems, so she'll wear a dancing girl outfit.

Or she needs to met up with some terrorist in a Moscow nightclub, so she'll need to look funky.

The costumes and wigs are so well done she can look very different depending on the wig, they change the whole shape of her face.

The woman from it is an American football fan isn't she? She was in the commentary booth as a special guest for a bit during a Monday Night Football game last season. I think they expected her to just be eye candy but she knew what she was talking about.

The only other good guest MNF has used is Samuel L Jackson.

Anyway…

James Bond never wore a wig.

James Bond would look stupid in an ass length blonde wig.

The outfits are all part of the show.

Is she eye candy? I think she just looks interesting, like the girl from Girlfight.

I think she's really attractive, a lot of people don't.

That's another reason the show's really good, the casting.

They could have gone with a generic blonde with big tits, but they choose someone because of her acting ability.

Kim Bauer anyone?

;)

Does anyone have a torrent link for the pilot please?

I'm determined to at least watch a whole episode of this, even if I don't end up liking it.

Hitcher has a link for the entire first season.

Do I?

I had links for entire seasons of 'Dead Like Me', 'Firefly' and 'Carnivale'.

Oh, hang about and I'll do the searching. ;)

Don't you?

Ooops, my mistake.

I'm sure in one thread you posted some links for it.

You might not have it any more though.

I like it; I've downloaded every episode from the start of the show on (and then deleted them again, of course - it's not that good) and it's very much worthy TV.

Watch it.

I have to admit, it does tend to put all other shows of its type to shame!

Having watched every episode so far, I now feel totally spoiled and anything* else I try to get into (e.g. Tru Calling) just seem to pale in comparison.

Im just glad its back to airing once a week in the States again. Sundays episode (E13) was another goodie ;)

*24 and Firefly do come a "not so" close second though.

I have to agree with that. In fact, I may have to do an equation:

Alias>Firefly>24

Alias is great. Simple as that. If you don't like it, then fuck off. Then when you come back, fuck off again.

I think I love you.
