The later episodes are apparently a bit more noticeably violent than most MCU stuff, from reviewers comments, but nothing to the extent of the Netflix stuff. In this first episode the violence is almost slapstick and you don't really see any harm from it. The closest thing to a real fight lasts milliseconds and is in the trailers.

 

Just to add to this, I think I as a 12yo would have had no issues with any of the above at all. However whether it's a good show for kids is difficult to say right now.

 

The first episode isn't your usual hero action-er, at all. You're thrown into the life of a nobody who has a problem that's ruining his life that he doesn't understand, which leads to him being on some strange situations. There's no origin, there's no explanation, you are left to just see what's happening. It's obvious we will get this all explained in the coming episode(s) (and if you go in with any knowledge of the character you know the fundamentals of what's going on), but how that works with a kid viewing, no idea.

 

Theres hints of things like Memento here, for instance, in some ways - that strange 'the hero doesn't really know what's happening and so we don't either' format is played with to a light level. And reviewers have cited the 90s Mummy films as being a heavy influence on it over the 4 episodes. So it might be an individual call as to whether a) your kids will cope with it from a creepy/violence pov and b) whether they'll get it/enjoy it on the more conceptual level. It's not Captain America, Spider-man, Iron Man. It's weirder from the get go it seems.

Accents were far from egregious, too. 

 

Have to agree with this- this was the best first episode of all six Disney+ Series so far. I really enjoyed the mystery box building.

 

I will be letting my 11yr old watch the first episode- but I will be watching later episodes ahead of her to check.

Shes actually British and from London, that's her normal voice lol.

 

I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with Issac's British accent

anyway as the charcter isn't British right? Isnt it a persona, so if its slightly off because it's not real.

 

I enjoyed the episode and it set up some nice mysteries.

I wasn’t sure who was who and whether he was possessed or what. So knowing Steven isn’t the real guy kind of ruins that.

From watching it, I thought he might be possessed by the booming voice thing and that the Mark guy had got stuck in Steven's body or something. Unless it's a red herring, Steven even speaks to his mum on the phone.

"Laters gators" What an utter English fuckwit! :lol: Isaac is fucking brilliant! His accent was superb! :D Really enjoyed this, and love me a bit of Egyptian mythology (I had no idea Moon Knight was "based" on that). That also makes the casting of Isaac particularly interesting given his past role in X-Men.

It was enjoyable, I thought some of the cuts were amazing and despite the accents Steven seemed like a fun character.

 

I'm a bit worried that was the strongest episode, but it was definitely good and I hope it'll keep the quality coming.

The tempered enthusiasm of this place really annoys me sometimes :lol: that was fucking brilliant!!

 

Without Isaac I have no doubt it would be nowhere near as witty or interesting but coming from someone who knows nothing about the character (and I am pretty good when it comes to Marvel stuff) I absolutely loved this. What a start!
