Zen School of Motoring (BBC3/iPlayer/Youtube)

Just seen this mentioned in recent days as it's moved from YouTube to BBC3. I've never seen or heard of it before and only watched the linked 10m episode, which I thought was pretty good.

Don't expect a mega thread for this, and your enjoyment may be linked to your knowledge of the areas in North London he seems to drive, I know a lot of them so it has added 'ooh I know that' appeal.

I do like odd little curios like this.

Appears there are 3 on YouTube and just checked my sky box which has 6 listed - don't know if it's all new footage or got some reuse but only short eps so will be watching later whilst my other half sits there open mouthed at the thing I'm recommending we watch together.

I love what they’ve done with this! All the ones on YouTube are great anyway but throwing in some camera trickery and his music to make a proper show out of it hasn’t lost any of the original magic and bends it into something new.

I love him. The vast majority of the areas he drives in are very local to me so he was a godsend during lockdown.

When I was heading up to the dentist the other day I saw a cyclist wearing a fluorescent jacket with "The Ogmios School of Zen Motoring" on the back and wondered if he had crossed over somehow.

The ones on iplayer are a slightly different format to the YouTube ones, they’re more developed.

We watched the second YouTube ep last night which was brilliant, even my other half approved. I've lived round North London all my life and never even heard of Purim.

We did learn though that my dog either hates ASMR voiceovers or has a touch of the Corbyn about her as she was barking her head off when the blokes were dancing round Ogmios' car. As a control she slept like a log thru the Witcher afterwards.

What the fuck is this supposed to mean?

that's not very zen.

I was worried the dog was being anti-semitic but it's all ok, we had an enquiry this morning and she wasn't so we consider the matter closed and will not be taking further questions on the matter.

So what the fuck has that got to do with Corbyn?

suggest you wind your neck in a bit, it was an off the cuff comment about my dog FFS, not something for one of the politics threads you're now boycotting in a hissy fit.

It might be a fucking joke to you, but I, and thousands like me, were out on the streets in the cold and rain of winter 2019 nearly every night trying to put Corbyn in place as the prime minister of this country.

We failed. As a consequence of our failure, there are now upwards of 150,000 needless deaths from Covid, public service institutions such as the NHS and local council services are being dismantled, billions in public funds have gone into the hands of crooked businesses that donate to the Tory party, basic civil rights such as the right to protest are being repealed, destitution and displacement amongst the most vulnerable in society is rife and the economic future of this country is perilous at best.

We didn’t fail because of any lack of effort or direction on our part, but simply and clearly due to an establishment marshalling all its forces in a single concerted effort to prevent a progressive government that would benefit the common people from taking power.

Part of that effort was the concerted and knowingly false smearing of a politician who has done more than the majority of Parliamentarians both alive and dead to fight racism in all its forms, including fighting antisemitism.

So you can wind your own fucking neck in if you are going to help perpetuate those smears.
