My prediction Mario Kart will move to a GaaS model and have new tracks dropped in periodically (as they are doing now with 8). There will be of course a base release with a number tracks. It will be on new hardware I think as a release title and maybe even included in a Nintendo online offering on a new console. Which would be rather nice TBH as it means it will build an online community and add more value into Nintys service offering. Oh and it will be just called Mario Kart. However. This is Nintendo so anything can happen. :)

Didn't realise that MK8 is 8 years old in May! :)

I think Mario kart as a GaaS would be great.

Its the only game I’ve always played throughout a consoles life even as early as Super Mario Kart. I think I played that game at least once a week until 64 came out and even still played it.
