Spain then.

Ferrari are supposed to be bringing a raft of updates. I still can't see much past an easy Max win.

This will be the race to decide who gets to keep their job in the Merc design office. Another failure and it'll be the return of the Bahrain spec test car.

Why is that Mercedes running Firestone's from 1962?

Also, Aston Martin have been "borrowing" blueprints again

P1 done and dusted, with the following results:

Not much to say, really - pretty dull session. Merc didn't seem to be bouncing, but at the same time they didn't seem to be much closer to Ferrari or Red Bull either. De Vries did a decent job.

That's pretty much the only information I want to see after a practice session - where did you get the table from?  All the sites I go to try to make me figure out the standings like one of those old logic puzzles... "Leclerc was 2 seconds slower than Verstappen, but he wasn't the slowest in the top 5, whilst Norris did a fairly good lap on the mediums..."  FFS, just give me the times!

Edit - found it - twitter... of course

Aston have done a great job of completely independently developing their car with Vettel going fastest so far in FP2.

It's such a huge oversight that Sky haven't gotten an aerodynamicist for their coverage, especially during Practice when people more interested in the technical stuff will tune in rather than asking a guy who was champion 26 years ago and a guy who ran around at the back what they think is happening.

I think they now know where the problem is. It's certainly less bouncy than the Ferrari, but not quite as fast. I think set up is where merc go next, that appears to be on a knife edge.

Whilst redbull still look the fastest and has a wider set up window to me.

RB are to conduct an internal investigation to see if there's any criminal reason why their car has an Aston badge on now.

Alot of people (admittedly commenters on websites like The Race etc) are saying this is because they weren't happy at being told the Gardening Leave aspects of their contracts were a bit dodgy and thus Dan Fallows was allowed to join Aston Martin 15 months early.

Looking at the race stint runs, I’m a bit worried Ferrari might have… ‘Ferrari’d’ their upgrade. Tyre wear really killed Leclerc’s pace yesterday. If Merc can get in amongst them on the grid they might end up being Verstappen’s biggest challenger on Sunday.
