Ferrari have now ended all links with Mick Schumacher.

I think he;s had a decent run at it, but Magnussen scored double the points he did, and that pretty much confirms he just wasn;t *that* good.

I suspect he'll be able to find a drive in Formula E or Sportscars though - there's a lot of factory LMP seats need filling for 2023.

Yeah I am very happy about that. Nice one Toto.

Give him some love and sim time and I think he'll turn out just fine to take on a Williams seat for 24.

Nah, he'll never make the grade. Crazy, sentimental move by Toto. He said a few weeks ago he'd take care of Mick due to some loyalty he felt towards Michael. This is a token gesture. It's not like he'll ever drive a Merc' even if Lew or Geo are sick.

He's not his dad for sure. But I still think in time he could make it in the midfield. He's getting breaks for sure because of his name and for sure any other driver would have been washed out by now but there you go.

Then who? Ant?

Who was the spare at the back making the tea when Lewis got Covid and they hauled George out of the Williams and shoehorned him into the car?

I can't even remember who it was!. Micky would be better off calling up Porsche or Audi and getting in on he Le Mans program. then at least he'd have a shot at an F1 seat when they hit F1 in a few years.

Standing at the back is a fools game.

I don't want to call WEC a lower series but...

If he goes to endurance he's done with F1 and not coming back. IMO a reserve at a top F1 team is hugely more relevant and valuable to him in his quest to get another F1 seat. Any experience he gets at Merc will also be of interest to another team.

The reason Danny Ric won't do another series is for the same reason. You invite the thinking that you've 'moved on'. Staying as a reserve  - focussed only on that he's still 'in' F1.

I tried to remember off the top of my head what they all do in a pit stop. I make it 19 people, have I forgotten anyone?

I guess they must have a few spare people in case someone falls over? What about spotters, people to clear debris out of brake ducts, that kind of thing?

Random trivia of the day: which F1 person is pictured here during a test day for British F3 in 1995? (They raced in the series in 1991)

That’s pretty good - I had to use Google to figure it out.
