If it’s raining outside, ask Lando if he wants to come in to change to wet tyres.

(Actually, don’t!)

On a serious note, you could ask Zak Brown if preserving and celebrating McLaren’s history is as exciting for him as developing their new cars. The guy is a big petrol head who loves driving around in old racing cars.

Ask Lando if he genuinely thinks he's better off with a long contract at Mclaren and not one with ferrari or redbull.

Ask him if the dinner at the end of the year with all the drivers was as fun as it look or was there and undercurrent of tension after Brazil.

Ask him if the drivers respect each other in real life outside of the media narrative.

As Zak when they're going back to Le mans

Ask Zak if I can have a job there please. If he says yes I'll pm my details 😎

If you want to scrub up on some Zak specific knowledge, give the Jodie Kidd videos a watch, I think she's a good host, but her guests (Zak in this case) are the real stars.  Great insights and very interesting...

I didn’t know there was another video at MTC, but the one where he shows her around his collection in that warehouse at United Autosport is amazing. Every car (but one?) a winner if I remember rightly.

Not many McLaren's from his tenure then :hat:

Be careful what you wish for Bob - I have a lot of colleagues and ex-colleagues who are less than complimentary (extreme understatement) about the working conditions at McLaren.

Yes. Though a lot of that was Ron. Has it not improved now he’s left?

Jos is in the gravel

🥰

And one of Brundles catchphrases (that DC has adopted too) has been heard "is it the first day back at school?"

And upon seeing Fisichella spin out into the gravel Brundle says "dare I say they should have had someone more experienced in the car" totally not bitter

Schumacher's Ferrari is giving off so much brake dust that his gold wheels were completely black by the time he pitted around lap 20

Alesi not pitting is peak Alesi (I think his radio was playing up?)

Remember that very well. I'd supported Frentzen since his first year in F1 at Sauber and also supported JV since he was in IndyCar in the same year, so 1997 Williams was peak fanboy material for me. Then, Jacques slaps it on pole by 1.7 seconds. Magic! I mean okay, he's got nerfed out the race by Irvine, but shit happens and Frentzen is now controlling the race. Everything is just perfect...

... but hang on, why is David Coulthard still in this? Why is Frentzen not walking this race? WHY HAS HE SPUN?

From that moment on my confidence of a private battle between my two favourite drivers for the F1 title kinda just crumbled away.

I enjoyed going back and watching all of that, will try and watch the rest of this guy manages to upload the whole season.

Was the 97 McLaren the first Newey designed one after his fall out with Williams and Head?
