Turned out not to help that much on the first usage, as although I got a couple of blue letters on my first guess there didn’t seem to be any way of finding if blue was “somewhere in the word” or “correct place”, so I had to switch back to regular and study the colours very carefully 😂 I’ll try and remember for tomorrow that blue = somewhere in the word

Oh, that's a bit rubbish. There is a link for feedback - I assume if he's trying to offer accessibility options, he'd be interested in hearing when they don't do the trick.

I had too many options towards the end. I had worked out what the letters in positions 2-5 were, but had 3 possible first letters and only 2 guesses remaining. So I decided to ‘non-hard-mode’ my fifth guess and write a separate word with all my possibilities in, just to make sure I could choose the right starting letter in my final guess. Worked a treat!

Too many words that still could have fitted: Sight, Wight, Bight, Dight, and of course the wordle.

 

At that point, I think it makes more sense to start choosing words with none (or few) of the yellow, green, and grey letters - and as many of the possibilities - to give a better chance of finding the missing letters. Otherwise it just comes down to pure luck.

Yeah, it's the one time my "hard mode isn't really hard mode" ethos went against me.

Turns out it does show the instructions in the “high contrast” colours if you have them switched on when you view the Help page, I just must have been back on the Normal version when I viewed it after flitting between the two a few times.

I think honestly the only way it's possible to fail is from RNG, if you've eliminated enough vowels and common letters from varied words. The first two guesses will be enough to take out nearly all the vowels. Think I'll pack it in after this week.
