Of course it’s a real word.

I’ve grown up all my life hearing it on TV. I inferred what it meant, but looking into it just now the British equivalent is a “commonhold.” A word that seems to have been invented in 2002.

PONCE - (had to see if it was in there after it popped into my head, and it used some nice letters (perfumed ponce!))

So of course I had to start with I, and had to include an E. But my use of A, R, and T also ruled out...

To be honest, I'm struggling for any word other than IMPEL that I could have used from the remaining letters other than INCEL. There are probably a few, but Impel is the word that came to me. :)
