I rarely get to play through games any more what with work, uni and parenting.

I have, however had all this week off and hammered through the new halo. First time I’ve done that in ages.

Im gonna attempt halo wars next. But doubt I’ll get through that.

I like to try and play a seeya mega drive over christmas for nostalgia sake. But doubt that’ll happen too.

I’m trying to get into some of the recent high-rated indie games (Genesis Noir, Forgotten City, Artful Escape) but they’re not really clicking. Spent last night playing Quake and starting a new run on Symphony of the Night. I think I’m treading water until I hopefully receive Miles Morales tomorrow like a very lucky boy.

Hopefully something from the Secret Santa ;)

Otherwise I'll probably be jumping in and out of random arcadey things - CvS2, 3rd Strike, Outrun 2006.

I would drag the 360 out later and see if I've still got NiGHTS downloaded with my Christmas NiGHTS save, but even then I think all of my controllers are borked. :P

Playing the same things I do every night, Pinky. Dead By Daylight, Forza Horizon 5, Destiny 2. I was thinking about restarting Monster Hunter Rise as I've only put a piffling 20 hours into it. I also thought about starting Obra Dinn or some other game of that type but I'll probably just end up rotating between the gaas bullshit I always do.

Having entirely given up on BF2042 - the gunplay, the specialists, the vehicles and most things are absolutely fine, but the maps are as dull as dishwater - I'm 40 hours deep into Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I intend to make more progress over the break.

I'm also play through It Takes Two with my wife and son (pass the controller). My missis is astoundingly shit at it.

Slowly making my way through Obra Dinn when everyone else is in bed, and a mixture of Captain Toad and Skyward Sword during the day when I can.

When I’m reunited with my Xbox in January I’ll be playing GotG - can’t wait to give this a go given the love for it here.

I'm still playing Halo Infinite, but despite ploughing through it for 12 hours, I've not gone back to it in a few days. It's great fun, but I just haven't summoned the will to turn the Xbox on for some reason.

I'll be taking my Switch to my folks' tomorrow for some Marlo Party Superstars with the fam, which is good craic when you've got four players. No doubt we'll get some Mariokart 8 in as well.

Apart from that, Grindstone is still on rotation on Switch as an excellent podcast/spare 15 minutes/bog game. I'm also hoping to give Resident Evil 4 VR a go before I head back to work on the 6th.

Merry Christmas, all!

Odd bits of Halo Infinite multiplayer when I get the telly, Hades and Grindstone on the Switch when I don't. The latter I only started yesterday and is nice and snowy so feels a bit festive. Perfect for squeezing ten minutes in here and there too.

Also planning on getting House of Fata Morgana in the Switch sale with any money or credit I get tomorrow. Will be perfect for the week into New Years.

Edit: Haha, snap @Jamie John

Currently, a bit of Phantasy Star Online Ep I&II after getting Dolphin/Retroarch working on the Series S.

I was also intending to play the very recent (as in, November) translation patches for Phantasy Star Portable: Infinity and Racing Lagoon. Both should run a treat on either the Series S or the Vita.

New stuff, I'll probably pick up a thing or two in either the Steam or EGS sale.

I'll be carrying on with Halo Infinite tonight, tomorrow night and Boxing Day night too, once everyone else is in bed, naturally.

I've downloaded a few other GamePass games and can't wait to start Footy Manager 22!!!

My wife and I have bought a Switch OLED as a family gift so, I'm hoping, on Boxing Day when my parents come over for "Christmas Part Deux" my Dad will be up for some Mario Kart 8 and Mario Party with me, my 6 year old son and my 4 year old daughter.

The Switch is all updated, games downloaded and saves synced from my Switch Lite so should be just plug and play. I've even rewired the AV unit so I have an HDMI port spare (with picture settings done) and a space behind the TV waiting to accept it's new shiny console lodger.

I have fond memories of getting my SNES and playing SF2 and Mario World with my Dad, younger brother and the boys and their Dad from across the street. I distinctly remember I had to wait as Dad and the boy's Dad hogged SF2 for ages (Dad was a badass with Guile!!). I want my kids to have fun gaming memories now.

That SNES memory is a little bittersweet now though. It's a shame that we had to say goodbye to the boy's Dad late last week. He was a proper nice bloke and we still can't believe he's passed away.

Been playing Ghost of Tsushima DC in the run up too Xmas, mostly the 3rd area which has a suitably wintery setting. i’ve also just started a NG+ Ultimate difficulty play of Miles Morales which I intentionally held back after my original play through last Xmas, such a fantastic game.

Santa should be bringing Guardians of the Galaxy tomorrow, which I’m really looking forward to playing after all the rllmuk love it’s received.

Already posted this in the wrong thread 😂

I’ve been playing through the Halo series over the last couple of months, I started with Reach and finished off Halo 4 this morning. Sadly Halo 5 is Xbox only (no PC) so I’m back to using the controller and having a limited FOV. Hopefully I can clear 5 and start the new one before New Year.

I’ve also played through the first few hours of FFVII remake this week, and I’ve been having the odd shot of Schildmaid now and again.
