Really? She's definitely painted as not over Vision's death and motivated by it as well as the kids. "Our" Wanda, to Strange, while they're talking above Kamar-Taj - "I blew a hole in the head of the man I loved and it meant nothing."

I thought this was okay but it all just felt a bit too generic to me.

There's not enough imagination surrounding the use of magic.

They say Scarlett Witch can change reality with a thought but she spends most of the time shooting red beams out of her hands.

Dr Strange spends most of his time throwing orange circles around.

I thought the best bit was when Wanda made Black Bolt's mouth disappear. There should have been more of that kind of stuff.

Agreed. Why would Scarlet Witch ever get in a punch-up?

Might be a bit too violent and frightening for younger MCU fans and wasn't expecting Raimi to go this Raimi with the film but so glad he did. Some amazing imagery and general unsettling atmosphere. 

 

Was totally caught off guard with Wanda being the big villain of the piece, maybe wasn't paying close enough attention to the trailers. Olsen was fantastic. 

 

Reed Richards was a big surprise, and his death has traumatised me. 

 

Was hoping Bruce Campbell would be an Iron Man variant but still enjoyed his cameo. 

 

Shame none of the Spider-men made an appearance. 

 

The green minotaur guy needed a bigger role. 

 

Have we had any explanation as to why Wong was fighting Abomination in Shang Chi yet? Was hoping that would be mentioned here. 

 

X-men theme tune was top notch but Professor X's floaty yellow vehicle looks too silly in live action- although I guess that was deliberate. 

 

I do hope we get OG Mordo back in the next Dr Strange outing.

Yeah, I was a bit bemused by Cowman ... on screen for a matter of seconds, no lines of dialogue beyond a worried mooing sound at one point, totally CGI, and yet the "actor" seemed to get something like eighth place billing in the end credits. Some kind of in-joke, I expect.

... we'll get a Wonder Woman movie featuring Ferdinand the Minotaur Kithotaur from Greg Rucka's run, because he's great.

Does anyone know if the name on the Apple crates is a reference to something? Seemed to linger on it, which seemed to be pointing an Easter egg out, but can’t see anything online…

 

I wished they’d stuck some line in of Strange talking to Wong and the book, telling Wong that he knows what he’s doing, he’s not going to say Klaatu Berata Nikto or anything like that :)

 

I had fun with it, just me laughing out loud at eyeballs being pulled out, third eyes appearing, Bruce…some audiences eh ? :)

 

think I’m going to have to show my son Army Of Darkness…

Nobody commented on the bad guy from Dopesick giving Strange shit about the blip.

 

Saw someone online say you didn't need to see Wandavision to get this - surely not? 

 

You'd go from sad Wanda in Endgame to, well, the start of this.

I think as well as Wanda vision, it helps to have seen Agents of Shield so that you know

The darkhold is a magical macguffin that corrupts everyone no matter what. I mean they do say it in the film too, but feels like it needs to be even more central than it is to justify doing that to her character.

why didn't the Strange on Titan who was dream walking regularly not have a third eye? That bugged me.

I mean, I know why he didn't - because that wanted to save that surprise for the end - but it still bugs now, even though I thought this film was rubbish.

I saw it, I loved it. It's a superhero movie, and a good one at that IMO.

 

 

Some of you lot just need to chill out a bit - you'll never enjoy anything with the level of analysis you want to do. You're like Alan Sugar on the Apprentice - whatever happens you'll have a reason to not like it. Who can be bothered with all that? Not me. It had magic and ghosts and booms and bangs and mirrors and tentacles and impalements and foreboding clouds and evil folk taking ages to get the final spell done. It had the lot (even pesky kids). Gimme more.
