I went back into battle tonight with this and managed to beat it. I know very little about c64 but it was a really nice playable port. Will be interested in trying out some other games on it now. The main difference to the master system version was the colours. Anyone else manage to give this a blast yet?

Shameless promotion but I coded C64 games in the 80s and have done some recently. All three can be had on my itch page and they're all pretty well regarded.

I watched a Twitch stream last night with the developers of this involved. It does look really impressive and playable and it seems they reverse engineered a lot of the code which makes sense. The REU is definitely doing a lot of heavy lifting to clear a lot of the issues you'd normally have coding a full screen scroll like that.

I picked these up a couple of days ago. Also, and this is an odd recommendation  was playing Millie and Molly last week from a hospital bed and it made for a nice slow and relaxing diversion. I might even like the iOS port more than the original C64 version!

Cheers, I hope you're feeling better.

I think the iOS version is nice as well, I like the Amiga graphics. I only coded it to learn Unity really. Even my wife played and completed that version. It made the sum total of sod all in sales though. The C64 version was more profitable.

Thanks I've bought these so will give them a try over the next week or so. What were some of the older games you created? Would like to give them a try too. Do you have a link to the sonic stream if it's still available?

Cheers, I hope you enjoy them.

The Twitch stream is here:

I wrote APB, Skull and Crossbones, Rugby: The World Cup, Spitting Image and Wanderer. Some are better than others!

My GB64 entry is surprisingly accurate:
