Fancied downloading FF VII Remake at last, and honestly it almost makes you want to not bother.

 

I remember claiming it as a monthly game in my PS Plus sub some time ago, and I also remember something about the PS5 being included at a later date. I do NOT want to play the version included with Extra/Premium, in case it ever leaves the service.

 

So the PS5 version on the store says it’s available to download ‘as part of your PS Extra sub’. Don’t want that.

 

But confusingly, the PS4 version also says this.

 

Turns out you need to go to PS4 version > three dots > view in store > three dots > PS4 Upgrade Edition, then there’s a drop-down menu with two options: GAME and GAME. The bottom one gives you a download link to the PS5 version which is included with your PS Plus Essentials sub.

As already said Sackboy is fantastic. I suspect it didn't do massive numbers but it's a fantastic platformer with a stonking soundtrack.

Have to say that PS Plus has come from miles behind and is now way, waaaaaay out in the lead. It’s absolutely spanking Gamepass, which now feels like a cheap, budget version in comparison.
 

The amount of quality games on it is just absolutely ridiculous. A lot of them are big AAA games too. What a turnaround!

Of course it's Grid Legends which I recently spent a whole 79p of my longstanding 96p PS credit on a months EA Play trial to play 😂

 

I quite like it. Flawed and a bit weird but fun. Couldn't give a shit about the other two games.

It's horrible.  The physics are just wrong, and it completely ruins it.

I personally loved descenders. It's nothing like trials, more like the downhill races in riders republic. Once you get in the flow it's great

It's genuinely amazing how quickly Sony overtook Gamepass with the quality of games available on this, I went through them side by side on the console last night, Gamepass is pretty awful value because of the lack of good first party games dropping.

I got Horizon Forbidden West on PS4 on disc and did the free upgrade to PS5 trick. Finished it, and sold the game.

 

Just purchased the DLC and thought I’d download the main game as part of my Premium sub. Let’s me download it, but still wants me to insert the PS4 disc.

 

Won’t let me add the main game as it says I already own it.

 

I seem to remember the notes from their last firmware update said they were fixing this.

 

Xbox has got it’s own problems, but it deals with this issue seamlessly.

You basically sold the game though, hence why you can’t play it.

 

I think the update just meant that e.g. if you own the Sackboy disc and added Sackboy to your library via PS Plus then you no longer need the disc to play it or need to download it again. You can then sell your Sackboy disc but you’ll only be able to play it as long as you’re subscribed to PS Plus. I assume it would work the same if you later bought a digital version of a game in a sale but not sure.

Ratchet & Clank is a nice addition, will definitely be playing that and Humanity. 
 

The classics continue to be a bit disappointing. I wish we could get the PSone Tomb Raiders.

I don’t think that’s right (or more likely, I haven’t explained it properly)

 

I sold my disc version and it won’t let me ‘buy’ the PS Premium version, or indeed the normal digital version - as it says I already own it.

Ah ok I misunderstood, I have a similar situation with Star Wars Fallen Order which I originally started playing via EA Play and then added via PS Plus but now that my EA sub has lapsed I can’t access. Whereas other games which I’ve done the same e.g. Mass Effect LE and Grid Legends are fine.
