WRC Generations at £19.99 is the one I've been waiting for, bless you Sony and your constant sales. That's 9, 10 and Generations all for just over £30 all in together, lovely.

A PS Plus Essential sub for 1 month is discounted to just £1.  Essential is the only tier I'm interested in so I think I will take out a 1 month sub get the free games then duck out and see what happens. I'm still waiting for a 30% discount (or similar) for 1 year but this is Sony and as I was still a member in Jan couldn't get the last discount.

Call me bloody minded but I'd rather not pay full whack when Sony treat loyal members like saps.

I bet when I sign up for 1 month Sony introduces another annual discount but only for new members thus invalidating me again.

I’m pretty sure there was a deal around Xmas for existing members, 25% maybe but with some cheap credit you’re not normally having to pay much more than £30 to renew. It’s been that way for years. There’s usually a similar Black Friday deal.

That's how it used to be but since they changed the system existing members can't take advantage of any deals. You have to wait for your membership to lapse and usually by that point the deal has come and gone.

How do you get the "cheap credit" you mention?

I think having to lapse only happens if you want to downgrade from e.g. Extra to Essential. Just had a look back and I added a year to Essential during Black Friday, they were offering 25% off to existing members plus I bought PSN credit @ ShopTo for 16% off meaning the year cost £31.50.

I notice they’re offering 35% off to upgrade from Essential to Extra or Extra to Premium at the moment (UK).

Neo: The World Ends with You will do nicely enough.

So does that mean Ridge Racer type 4 will be available to buy when this goes live?

Probably not. Namco are being weird about selling their PS1 games outside of the PS+ sub for some reason.

It’s so insane they don’t seem to want money for ridge racer.

Why can’t I play a collection on my switch ffs?

Although this would be preferable.

Definitely check out Neo: TWEWY if you've ever been keen to play it before. The difficulty can be a bit inconsistent because you scan the area for battles rather than running into random encounters - so if you've been dodging encounters and run into a forced battle you might have a hard time - but it's packed with style and there are some great moments later on if you stick with it.

Rage 2 is a blast, don’t sleep on it. Stylish and sleek fps in an open world, reminded me of like Doom meets Titanfall 2. But not as good as both, still great fun.

Ridge 4 is listed on the What's New page:

https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/ps-plus/whats-new/?

but I can't find a download link anywhere. Searching for it gives random results of other games with a 4 in the name.

It's an absolutely rubbish online store. Even the A-Z list of classics is just text, Sony couldn't even be arsed to make them hyperlinks to the actual games.

https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/ps-plus/games/#classics-cat-a-z

edit - Found it via google and search in the store seems to be working now too.

Not sure if I like Ghostwire yet. The constant lame cutscene interruptions break the flow far too often. What could have been a one sentence voice line is a 90 second cutscene complete with overacting. I'm about a hour in and already anxious whenever I see an item I can interact with: simple pick-up or a cutscene? On top of that, there's the flood of tutorials.

Not a great start but I'll play some more over the weekend.

it doesn’t score well on “time to players first control”. And looks significantly poorer than the actual gameplay for a large portion of that too, as the camera hovers on a quite low fidelity car model.

I would but I don’t even know which game you’re talking about!

I got this email from Sony:

"The PlayStation Plus Collection is closing.

From 9 May the PlayStation®Plus Collection will no longer be available as a PlayStation Plus benefit."

Followed by Sony's tagline:

"PLAY HAS NO LIMITS"

Turned out I liked it a lot. Does nothing exceptionally well, 7/10. The feeling it gave me while playing was very reminiscent to how I felt during The Evil Within 2 and Days Gone. Ticked a lot of the right boxes for me.
