Probably just waiting for Black Friday tbh, they’ve had half price Plus and Now deals in the past. Either cancel for a bit or pay monthly until then.

I've read that overall, streaming games is horrible in terms of energy consumption.

 

Am I right in thinking, however, that streaming is actually quite light on energy consumption, purely from the console side? Surely my PS5 using less leccy streaming than if it was actually running the game.

 

Most of the energy burden would then go to Sony's server farm, which would actually be running and transmitting the game.

I’ve always hated the idea of streaming (even if it works flawlessly). It just seems wasteful. Maybe I’m still in the mindset of having limited internet. 
 

I’ve still got a PS3, and don’t understand why Sony won’t let me play those PSPlus games natively.

I picked up a PS4 Pro on Thursday night. I sold my OG PS4 back in 2017, so I’ve missed out of a few decent exclusives. 
 

Three months of PS Plus should allow me to play through Bloodborne, Tsushima, Spider-Man, God of War, Days Gone etc. just a shame I was a couple of days too late to claim Tony Hawk 😢

Deathloop was their big September game and now it’s coming out on GamePass the same day. If you’re a multi-console owner it’s becoming increasingly clear this isn’t a Netflix/Disney+ situation where you need to be subscribed to multiple services.

You'll be waiting a fair amount of time to play Starfield on PlayStation Plus, or God of War in Game Pass. Deathloop and that Japanese ghost shooter seem like they'll probably be relative exceptions due to studio acquisitions? Even the mid-tier/indie stuff has a fair few titles where it seems like maybe they've signed to be exclusive to that subs plan? I don't think we're seeing Death's Door or Tunic in PS Plus whatever-the-tier is called, despite presumably the dev/publisher being into subs models.

Over the past few months I have been playing WRC10 on/off from Extra, it's a pretty good podcast game and doesn't require any brainpower. I was a few sessions away from finishing + getting the platinum and the game suddenly had a lock icon. Redownloaded, renewed licences etc to no luck. Turns out they took it off the service, there was no noticeable timer under the game or notification the game was going away - if I'd known I would have finished it up beforehand.

 

Really pissed me off and left a sour taste in my mouth for a service that had until now far exceeded my expectations.

PSplus typically gives an end date and highlights in menus any games that are approaching one.

 

I seem to have had this downloaded though don’t remember doing so. Assumed it was one of the permanent monthly games, but I guess I was downloading any and all racing games when I got a G29.

It needs to be obvious and when you download a game it should tell you then the date if any of when the game is leaving the service so then you can decide if you have enough time to enjoy or not.
