That stars thing sounds alright. If it's like the Microsoft rewards stuff then it'll be easy to ignore but still a nice little bonus to cash in every now and again. If it ends up driving your choice about what to play then that's obviously a bad thing.

Nah just a tiny bit bummed out. It's the feature that appeals most to me in theory. I was kinda hoping Sony would manage to make more games from those generations than Microsoft managed with the OG Xbox but it's not strange if it turns out they ran into the same limitations.

You are absolutely right, PS5 users can upgrade, and I had no idea about that at all. Hey ho.

 

Integrade chucks in all the DLC, though, so I guess that's nice.

Tried The Crew 2. Holy shit the menus are a baffling mess I've no idea where to go etc. I've done maybe 4 events and after each one I've unlocked a minimum of 19 more (not an exaggeration) I mean look at this map:

Before looking into the process of upgrading from Essential to Extra, I was going to purchase Stray and Guardians of the Galaxy individually. But investigating the upgrade and the huge list of available PS4 and PS5 games which I would want to play on the Extra list (including Stray and GotG), seems a no brainer for me.

The cost of these two games would cover the rest of the upgrade cost for how long my subscription still lasts.

Good times :)

Quick query about upgrading if anyone can help. Can I pay via the wallet with PSN credit?

Only reason I'm asking is as per my previous post, thinking of upgrading from Essential to Extra, when I checked on the PlayStation site and chose that option the only ways showing to pay for the amount for the Extra level for the remaining time of my PS+ subscription was as Card, PayPal. But nothing about Wallet, like when you want to purchase a game digitally etc

I have Game in-store credit and if I can get some PSN cards from them and add that to my wallet to pay for this, will save me some money. Don't want to get some of the PSN cards, add them to my account and then not have any way of using that Wallet credit option to pay.

Hope that makes sense.

 

Edit, added some credit via a PSN card and was able to upgrade fine.

Signed up for Premium now it gives you a week's trial. First thing I looked for was Tekken 2 which prompts me to upgrade to Premium to play it, that gives me a CE error. Have they restricted it until you actually start handing over the cash or is it just a bit broken?

 I took out the 7 day trial this morning and had no problems downloading Stray.

I’m hoping this is a temporary glitch but something has changed for me since yesterday - I was a regular PS plus subscriber on my UK account who has not upgraded to any of the new tiers. I play everything on my Japanese account, as having the UK account on the same system allows online play (but no cloud saves).

 

Except tonight it didn’t. Elden Ring said “could not verify PS plus subscription”. I was playing it just fine 24 hours ago and there haven’t been any updates to the console. Really hope this is not how it’s going to be from now on.

 

For the PS4 to do this it was required to set the console as the primary system for the PS plus holding account. I tried to check this setting but it doesn’t seem to exist on PS5, unless I missed it somewhere?

 

edit - I see this has happened before and it was classed as an Elden ring server issue, so it may be game specific. I don’t have any other multiplayer games installed on my PS5 to check.

I think something is up with the PS Store. I've bought Stray outright, and have the email confirming the purchase. But it's not showing up in my library. I tried to check my library on the Sony store website, and it just shows this:

I had that and also wouldn't appear on the phone app nor would it let me download on the console itself. But seems to have fixed itself now and I have it installed
