They don’t mention North America and Japan, although many of their games are PAL versions too. I guess any games that are PAL in NTSC regions will probably stay PAL everywhere?

NA and JP have PAL versions of games wtaf?

Bit of a nice surprise. Had ps plus out till March 23 , total price to upgrade to premium until then £34. Was expecting more but I guess it make sense given the annual cost of psplus

Personally I think I’ve already got my value for money.

Returnal, Miles Morales, Mafia Remaster,Guardians of the galaxy

Yeah, the PS1 collection is clearly crap but there’s plenty of other good stuff on there. It’s like 0.5% of the service.

The front-end for the ‘classic’ stuff is appalling. PS1/PS2/PS3 stuff all mixed in, some labelled as PS4, no way to filter by original platform, no original box art so you can’t really tell what’s what, and cloud streaming has the PS3 games mixed in with PS4 stuff. It should allow you to filter to each platform at least.

But honestly, PS1 stuff will never be good enough. Even if they got the emulation perfect and only NTSC versions, the selection would never be all you ever hoped for. Do yourself a favour and buy a RG351 device to play them all perfectly on a handheld, or a cheap Android-based TV device to play on your TV.

Well that’s good news.

I bet they thought they could just put the minimum effort in.

In 2022 taking about PAL and NTSC versions feels weird yet here we are due to laziness

Planning to = no rush

It would be one million times better than the paltry selection of they added just one of the Ridge racer games, it would be like Nintendo not having a single Mario game or Microsoft no Halo game in the classic selections - its so bad i thought the page had crashed as it didnt scroll down 😂

The PS5 stuff is ok, Returnal and Demon souls to try out are good as I have the other PS5 games, trial of latest Horizon will be given a go so not all bad.

Duckstation on Xbox Series consoles is absolutely obscene too!

The trials will save me a bit of cash I reckon. 5 hours with Horizon Forbidden West is probably all I’d manage anyway, same with 2 hours on Hot Wheels.

The PAL version of Ape Escape has better voice acting than the North American. It's odd that they recorded two English voicetracks but they did for some reason.

The price stays much the same at £50, though I'm hoping there will be annual discounts going forward that will bring it down to about £35.

I hope you’re not paying £50, generally around Black Friday the subs go for £30 on places like ShopTo and are also discounted on PSN where you could then also use cheap credit. Or perhaps you mean ShopTo would then sell for £20 or something, which would be nice 😀. I doubt it though.

I've upgraded to Extra this morning as it's only £7-ish for the remainder of my existing old Plus subscription. And suggestions on where will be the best place to find cheap renewal deals when it ends please?

Apologies if this has already been answered, but I had Plus and Now and as such I've been rolled over to PS Plus Premium. Had a gander in my subscriptions section online to see if it was going to auto-renew me at the Premium level and:

That's not right, is it? Seems to be about half the price it's supposed to be.

That would seem to be the way to go as Sony are reportedly dropping pre-paid cards for subs

That just look like speculation, they maybe just need to get new cards out to retail to make it clear what tier you’re getting, so could just be that. Would seem odd otherwise, as I expect they’re popular as gifts. You would’ve thought a digital switch would be relatively quick though.

PlayStation Plus Premium Extra is such an incredibly lame name though. I vote for Sony Gamepass for windup reasons or Spotif4theplayers or NTSCflix

It's PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium. Not whatever you made up. :P
