He was tactically out-thought in the first half I thought. By the time it was corrected in the second half, they were 2-0 down and being booed by home fans.

 

This team is so incredibly mentally fragile, any set back and they're on the floor. Being 2-0 down at half time wouldn't have been a reason to bet against United sides in the past, or Liverpool and City these days.

 

You can tell he's been trying to work on their confidence, but it was telling how quickly it broke. As a fan I felt the same way, the optimism for the season went in record time, and these guys are living it.

Have they even given up on the pretence that they’re going to back the manager now? 2 games into the season and we’re in a worse position than we were last season. I’m done with this shitshow until someone with ambition takes over.

I do. I'm a huge PSV fan.

 

Cody is a top bloke. Definitely a left winger, every match I've seen of him as a center forward at PSV was a disappointment. Look up his goals against Feyenoord from a few months ago to see his strengths. Great control, killer right foot.

 

I think he's better than Antony, who I think is very overrated especially for that kind of money. And Dutch player of last season.

 

That said, I'm not sure if it's not too early for him to to go to the PL. There are so many recent examples of players who shone brightly in the Dutch league but disappointed in the PL, like Memphis, Bergwijn, Ziyech and Van der Beek.

I watched the two Champions League qualifiers against Monaco (impressive team by the way) and Cody was up there as the worst player in both games, where he should have been the player to lead PSV the way.

We might move on to Ziyech, as it happens.  I think Gakpo has rejected a move.  It would have been strange to buy another left winger, to be honest.  That's the only area of the squad we've got real cover apart from centre-back.  

 

We're also interested in Sasa Kalajdzic, 6ft7 Stuttgart backup striker who has scored 24 goals in his last three seasons.  That's a total of 24 goals, not 24 per season.  It's where we are in terms of attracting players.  We're trying to sign players who will be dazzled by the idea of playing for Man Utd because they would never in their wildest dreams have expected to play for such a big club.  And with good reason.

 

edit - and Rangnick (his international manager) has heavily implied that his development would suffer if he went to United anyway.  It's like the Timber thing again. What is up with our former managers, now international managers, talking their players out of moving to us?

They covered Rashford being wanted by Psg on 5 live, something about Psg targeting players with one year left on their contract, though they didn't know about some extension he has been offered, i dunno I wasn't really listening. I doubt Rashford would play much, but getting to train and play with Messi I'd take it, Rashford pr gives the impression he thinks higher of his ability than fans do. 

 

Also they mentioned a footballer who said Rabiot was the most impressive midfielder he'd played against. They were all surprised by this. Nothing specific, just 'hard to get the ball off him'. 

 

I guess at this point any midfielder will do, sigh. Really, go for 3, 4 and see how they work in the premier league. Look how Kulusevski has done, physically he's perfect for the league and has that De Bruyne unfussiness about him and a range of skills he just does simply. I don't watch Juventus, maybe Kulusevski was a star, but he's definitely excelled more than fans would have expected, surely.

Because they know what an utter shit show it is behind the scenes and knowing the player will be far better off not coming here.

That's potentially a better line-up than last week. There should be a better shape, with Ronaldo back up front and Eriksen in midfield should give us some control.  It's up to the players to do much better than they did last week.  They all need to individually be a lot better, or systems and tactics don't matter at all.

I hate this new kit.  I think it looks pretty ropey, but I also suspect that it is an attempt to take over some Google analytics.  Green and yellow has been the colours of the protest movement against the Glazers.  Now crowds full of green and yellow will just look like people wearing the away kit. People googling what green and yellow means to United will get pictures of this kit.

That stemmed from fuck aweful "play from the back" , and Martinez has demonstrated already, he it not a prem defender, he is too small, too slow, not physical enough. ..Stick him in midfield, he can pass

Well you're right. but these fucking idiots should be able to play out from the back. At least ETH will be able to see just how shite they are.
