I mean let’s be honest, no one would be giving a goal back.

Might teach De Gea to not be such a baby, especially when he sees it’s his own player doing it.

felt like the Barthez trying to con the ref into blowing for offside. But if you're the keeper, and you KNOW that there's a fucking threat, you stay on your feet and make sure you dont concede even if your arms are hanging off. This is 100% on the keeper.  He was laying so he couldnt even SEE the game the prick.

Bielsa did, Di Canio, of course, and Wenger's Arsenal offered to replay a game once.  I don't think it's something you can expect a team to do.

If the roles were reversed, I'd genuinely want United to give the goal back, but there's still time to make sure it doesn't  matter in the end.

Really? I wouldn’t. It’s completely our own fault. Hopefully we get our heads back in the game, but not yet.

A penny for Rangick’s thoughts 😂

He'll love Tuanzebe. If he's watched enough van Gaal United he'll love Martial.

Perversely, I wonder if he'll try getting a tune out of Pereira....

Looking at the two sides tonight, I really feared for United. They've been alright, catastrophic goal aside. There's at least a shape there.

Behave. The ref has two decisions to make and has the benefit of video assistance. The injury is caused by a team-mate, and it's not a head injury. Perfectly good goal, and no reason to disallow it.

The convention around injuries to goalkeepers is that the game is stopped. It's a unique position on the pitch.  It doesn't matter how the injury was inflicted or if it is a head injury.

I've also not fucking said they should give a goal back, I was answering a conversation about whether it has happened before. I said before the decision was made that it should be a goal. You behave!

You've been watching refs doing it wrong. Let's not knock one for doing it right.

At a push, you could pull it back as unsportsmanlike conduct, but I'm not sure Smith-Rowe could see the situation, and can it be unsporting if the player hasn't the knowledge? Now that is a tricky one.

Well played Fred. Great assist from the best player on the pitch so far.

What? He's been shocking. Several shit passes, stood on De Gea, gave away a stupid free-kick in a dangerous position and lost a few 5050s.

Can someone explain to me why Rashford and Sancho are playing out of position?

I wouldn't call it unsportsmanlike conduct, definitely not. I completely agree that the goal was our own fault, particularly our keeper for being made of twigs.  I do think that if the ref had noticed, he would have probably blown his whistle and the goal wouldn't have happened, but you can't blame him either, really.

To explain my comment about wanting United to give a goal back if the situation was reversed - I don't bear any anger towards Arsenal, this is a way in which I'm weird and I understand this.  I've always been sort of "over fair" when playing sport. I've deliberately put the ball out of play when presented with an open goal because of an injured keeper a couple of times.  Obviously it's completely different when it's your livelihood you're talking about of course.  :D
