The Man Utd Thread

How do people actually get tickets for these types of games? I just went on the Man Utd website, was in a queue of 5000 for about 20 mins then got through to the ticket section and the cup final is not even on there as an option 🤷‍♀️

So confused. Google’d it, still none the wiser. Do I have to perform a ritual/spell to gain special sight?

Think I saw a now deleted comment on Reddit saying they aren’t actually available yet.

So only for season ticket holders who have been to every home cup game? Fucking hell. Better chance of breaking through the barriers ala Euros!

Greenwood charges dropped. This puts the club in a very difficult situation. I can't see any way he's able to be welcomed back, but they can't sack him if he's not going down for anything.

Surely the messages that were released could be classed as damaging the clubs reputation? There must be contract termination clauses for such things?

I wonder what will happen now. I think his contract will still be cancelled by United, but there might be some sort of payoff behind the scenes. The question is whether he will get a contract somewhere else and continue his career. Ched Evans plays for Preston North End, and the Brazilian goalkeeper Bruno who murdered his girlfriend was signed by three different clubs in Brazil. There's always someone willing to ignore morals if it gets them a good player, and Greenwood was on his way to being one of the world's best.

I hope we don't try to integrate him back into our squad.

Don't forget Ronaldo admitting to raping that woman.

I don't know enough about the Ronaldo allegations to comment, but potentially there is a massive double standard there (from the club and fans).

I think people are under the impression a victim can decide not to press charges in the UK like on the telly, which is different from them not co-operating. It just makes a conviction in this case extremely unlikely. You’ve only got to look at what the dad said about not wanting to hear a tape of your daughter getting slapped around and sexually assaulted, but we’ve known him since he was in the under 21s and he’s a good lad really and the phone was hacked anyway. Sounds like a few people had motivation to make this all go away if you weren’t feeling especially charitable.

He’ll be tried in the court of public opinion, which is fortunate for him as domestic abuse is the one crime people seem happy to put to one side.

Read this Der Spiegel article. Pretty damning.

Question: " Describe in detail what happened starting with the first physical contact that you had with Ms. C in the other room and describe the sequence of events regarding any such physical contact and involving any embracing, fondling, kissing, or going from a standing position to lying on a bed, or on the floor, or wherever it took place."

In the September version, X answers: "I fucked her from the side. She made herself available. She was lying on her side, in bed, and I entered her from behind. It was rough. We didn't change position. 5/7 minutes. She said that she didn't want to, but she made herself available. The whole time it was rough, I turned her onto her side, and it was fast. Maybe she got some bruises when I grabbed her. (...) She didn't want to 'give it to me,' instead she jerked me off. I don't know any more exactly what she said when she was jerking me off. But she kept saying no. 'Don't do it' -- 'I'm not like the others.' I apologized afterwards."

Part of the following passage is written in the third person, which is perhaps a function of Ronaldo's lawyer having written down the answers for him:

"They didn't use a condom. They didn't talk about condoms. He didn't come inside of her. He pulled his dick out before. I came on her and on the blanket. There was no lubricant. I used saliva. He doesn't know if she had an orgasm."

In the December version, X says: "She was laying in the bed. I went from behind. We did not switch positions. It was 5/7 minutes. It was rough. She didn't complain, she didn't scream, she didn't call for help or anything like that. We didn't use condoms. We didn't even mention it. I did not come inside. I came "on her" (not "in her") and in the blankets. There was no artificial lubrication. I used some saliva. Can't tell if she had or not an orgasm."

Question: "Did Ms. C ever raise her voice, scream, or yell?"

September: "She said no and stop several times."

December: "No."

At this point, Martial just needs to retire, he’s talented for sure, but he’s more fragile than a PAL Dreamcast case!!

It’s really sad to see. As ETH says we play our best football when he’s fully fit. But what can we do? Can’t rely on a glass striker.

I think he's worth persevering with, and trying to find some way to keep him fit. To my eyes, twice this season the problem has been Martial coming back too early and playing while injured, which seems like a player that is desperate to play. I don't think we can say it's an attitude problem.

We're a better team when he plays. He seems to be a key element in unlocking our forward players. I'm not saying we don't try to get a centre forward in the summer, but we need to keep trying with him at the moment.

Yeah I don’t doubt his attitude at all, especially considering he knows he’s our number 1 striker. He’ll be desperate to play. Just such a shame his body is is not cooperative.

It is really sad, particularly as he has obviously been working on his game, and has improved his consistency. He talked in an interview a year or two ago about how he was aware that he took too long to get his game going, whereas Cavani was always at 3000% even if he only played a few minutes. I think pretty much every time I've seen Martial play this season he's hit a good level.
