basically Villa wanted it more, had more energy and scored some top class goals.  when we pushed, they defended in numbers well and our wingers werent playing wide enough to stretch them so everything got congested.

If we won at the weekend I'd have happily seen us play a second string team to give other players a rest tonight and so we don't have to play more League Cup games later on in our already stupidly congested season but I can't see that happening tonight. It's going to be almost full strength isn't it?

I’ve felt the same way about Manchester United for thirty years.   I can’t see us (Villa) winning back to back games against Manchester United. The universe just doesn’t work that way.
