Shaw has also been fantastic since coming back into the side.

 

Our best performance of the season today, no doubt. Very exciting to see Ten Hag’s plan coming together. A few more players - including a striker - and we’ll be back fighting for titles soon enough.

 

Shout out to Bruno today, outstanding performance. I’ll never understand the hate he gets from our own fans.

Yeah, we don’t know the full story there of course but if that is the situation then he needs a long look at himself.

 

I’m guessing ETH promised him the usual 20/25 mins and as the game developed and we started scoring he changed his mind. Understandable that he’d be upset, but you don’t just walk away. Hope we’re wrong and he felt a slight injury warming up or something.

The best we've played for years, and Ronaldo has to try to make it all about himself. The work Bruno, Dalot, and Casemiro put in, and the headlines will be about a 37-year-old man throwing a tantrum. 

 

I can't think what else it could be. Even if he wanted to get into an icebath or something, there's no reason I can think of why he wouldn't wait until the final whistle.

Rashford will play worse than that and score a hat-trick. He needs to keep doing what he's doing and goals will come. His overall game was excellent.

 

So many great performances tonight. As well as the four I've mentioned, Shaw, Martinez, and Fred were great. Antony was exciting in the first half but inexplicably disappeared from the game in the second.

Evra is hilarious. They should have him doing all the coverage on every game. Bruno comes out for an interview and Evra launches into a five-minute rambling monologue at him, as Bruno looks increasingly confused, and that doesn't even have a question at the end of it.

That's such an entertaining passage of play. Fred's nutmeg, and on their most hateable player in Romero, then normal service instantly resuming with the pass straight to the Spurs player, and then Fred battling and winning the ball back, ending up with Rashford's chance and a brilliant save by Lloris.

Very disappointing to hear he refused to come on. I know it’s a situation the club created for itself and for Ten Hag by not making a deal for his departure in the Summer, but he’s let himself down massively there. A real shame that his story with the club is now bound to end in acrimony.

If reports are to be believed, his agent was trying to get him a move in the summer but no one who he would go to (CL contenders) actually wanted him.

I spent the Summer in Portugal and most of the reports there were that  Sporting were very keen and an agreement basically reached with Mendes, but Glazers put a stop to it.

I thought you guys were excellent last night. First United performance I've enjoyed as a neutral for a while and seems like Ten Hag is starting to get you playing some decent football too. 

 

Shame about Ronaldo but last night's behaviour might do you some serious favours going forwards.

This is what I’d read from a few good sources over the summer too. Joel Glazer personally put a stop to it for commercial reasons was the line. 
 

Such a backwards club.

 

Ten Hag would have been very happy to see him go in the summer too I think. 38 year old Ronaldo’s just not right for the way he wants to play.

 

Ten Hag has made it pretty clear Ronaldo doesn’t start if Rashford or Martial are fit, so I doubt this changes too much, other than proving to Glazer that they should just release him for January and (not) learn from their mistakes.

Yeah, I think that’s the best they’ve played consistently over a whole match since Ten Hag took over.

 

Little by little it’s coming together, they look pretty solid at the back and creating a lot of chances, the main issue is they aren’t finishing most of them. I expect a striker would be the next focus for Ten Hag.
