there's some easy credits to be made in the Anniversary Nations Cup events.

There's two races that give you 1 million credits each for a win. Willow Springs in the Escudo, 7 laps and Spa with rain in Gr3s.

They've also changed Daily Race A to be one of the Nations Cup finals which is Deep Forest Reverse in Gr3s and increased rewards which are still completely pathetic. I did two races and I do not like that track in reverse. It really doesn't work very well.

Are they online or vs AI?

This is shit imo.  There, I said it.

It's all so self congralutatory and up its own arse. It might be a good racer (and the cars are enjoyable to drive for the most part), but it's a shit game.  It's the stingiest fucking game ever, the "reward" roulette type tickets are a fucking joke, giving the minimum at all times.  Progression is locked behind a crap game of shitty fetch quests from a load of personality devoid avatars meaning you get a garage full of shit you don't want, but need to use in the crappy low level races you have to do before you can unlock anything decent.  And the rolling starts a also a fucking joke unless you OP your cars to catch up within the two laps they give you for most races within the first ten hours.

Meh, a wasted purchase.

I loved, loved, GT1 and 3, too....  I should have known as it was similarly po-faced in GT5.

The single player stuff is a bit wank but the game shines against the clock or online - ive put a huge number of hours in and haven’t touched the sides of all the stuff I want to do but do agree the vs AI stuff isnt the best - but that’s always been the case, GT games have had the worst AI of any game compared against it!

And the car appraisal option in the used car dealer isn't showing for me, so I can't get rid of the shit I don't want for any return.

Fuck me...  <_<

You have to have unlocked a certain menu so be a fair way through the cafe menu stuff….

Also what's the answer to question 3?

The consensus to the poorly worded question is Porsche, as it was a Porsche in the lead at the start of lap 2.

But then I've seen a few say it could be Toyota as they where on top in the manufacturers championship, already picked Porsche so we'll see.

The weather is random. On my first try, I used the Porsche on mediums thinking I might manage the whole race, after pushing the mediums too far (and fuel saving) I switched to the soft and finished 30 seconds down!  It rained for about half a lap, but not even enough for me to feel it.

Second try it rained on lap 8 or 9.  I switched to inters at the start of 9 and finished 2nd as the leader didn’t stop at all it seemed.

Third try, I was going flat out on softs in the BRZ which seems decent on tyres. My plan was a simple 5 and 5 both on soft, with a duel top up.  I pitted at the end of 5 as planned checked the weather radar at the end of 7 and it looked like strong rain incoming, so I gambled and stopped for a second time for inters.  With 20 seconds in the pits, it was raining a fair bit when I exited, rain gauge just under the first line. By the end of the Kemmel Straight it was into inters and I was closing down 5 second gaps in 3 corners. I was approaching the bus stop as the leaders pit.  I had a 10 or 12 second lead with 3 laps to go.  I maintained it for 2 laps but on the last lap it turned to a monsoon with need for full wets.  My lap time ended up about 40 seconds down! Out of Blanchimont I ran wide, and somehow managed to keep the car straight as I slid along the grass towards the chicane, slowing the car. I popped back onto the track at the entry, dropped a couple of gears and managed to get around and cross the line with 4 seconds to spare.  Amazing fun race, but heart in mouth stuff!  I’m playing on hard if it makes a difference.

The Escudo race is simple, if you can keep it on the track.  It took me 2 attempts as the first I stuck a wheel on the dirt on the last corner and only recovered back to 3rd.  Only thing you need to watch is for the AI braking too much (or at all!) in some corners unexpectedly.

i dunno if this is obvious, but with those two anniversary races. Don't just win them first go..

you're better off getting third, then second, then first, and turn 1 million credits a race into 1.8 million.

The prize money stacks for these, I just got 1.8m for winning the Willow Springs race.

The final of the Nations cup was a cracking race, that last lap was incredible. Wrong man won IMO but it’s never good to see a championship decided by a penalty so fair enough that they let it slide.

I was rooting for Miyazono but would have been just as happy if Inostroza won.

Why do they bother. The car looks like ass and you could slap the badge of  ***literally any***  of the manufacturers in the game on it.

It's crap, pointless and takes away resource that could be put to better use.

It's like they have a 'generic future car' generator.

I picked Lopez so credits for me. Anyway, I think lack of viewing angles was a shame. Why didn’t they offer an explanation of why?
Either Lopez punted him wide to gain position( which it looked like to me), or maybe he got up inside and Inostroza pulled in on him? Showing the replays from different angles and showing steering and throttle / brake inputs ( which this game does in minute detail) would surely be easy to justify the decision and satisfy us all that punting people to win isn’t now acceptable

I almost wonder if there's some sort of licensing or budgetary thing going on with it and PD and the manufacturers. The lack of modern GT3s or even just modern Ferraris etc is odd and then all these Vision cars. it's almost like they're like we can't afford to re-license to make current Ferraris but this Vision stuff is cheap but that doesn't make any sense either to me as surely PD / Sony is rich enough to make it work.

Oh wait, Kaz is a weirdo and probably thinks the Vision cars are all awesome. #musicrally #neverforget #nissansilvia

One switch please to Hide (or preferably uninstall) Vision GT cars. I’m surprised Ferrari signed-off on that monstrosity.

That VGT or advanced drill catcher looks awful like all of them, well worse than most so that’s something - maybe it was Binotto’s parting gift….

I had a little sesh this afternoon, ive been unwell and still not right so it was a right old sweat fest that im telling myself will cure this cold…. Anyhoo the 25th anniversary race on Willow Springs is a great laugh - I hadn’t raced that track of late or own the car so was surprised how well I did (take it all back about the pros making it look easy ;)) and took the win after a couple of goes with some customary binning it on the same corner chasing lap times when not needed… Naturally now being a master of the course and car I finished the session doing a few laps on the TT and assume the BOP / Tyres are different given how different my pace was - can’t believe I let @Corranga keep that spot above me but Im knackered and will be back ;)

I did also have my fist go on Road Atlanta and thats a great track, did the circuit experience and thats another good combo and some easy credits - the inevitable TT on this track is going to be a hoot, I can imagine it will be a Corvette on solid tyres for the japes!

Have a look at this week's Race C - a 12 lap dash round Road Atlanta in the MX5 Roadster.  A really good combo and it seems you can do quite well if you can keep it on the black stuff for 12 laps :)

Ahh that is a great combo - will have to try and give it a go later!

For those that watch race replays from these public competitions - is it just viewing an in-game replay of sorts, and if so is it the same as the in-game replay cameras?

Don't you find it odd that the replay system in this game - 25+years on - is still the same? Fixed camera option, that's it - you have no choices whatsoever other than the one they provide. Hasn't moved with the times - even the triangle button does the little zoom thing.

Can confirm it’s great. Fast laps rely on sweeping lines which are hard to do when racing in a pack, and it’s a grid start so you’re all bunched up from the start. It means there’s a lot of rough and tumble racing in the pack but it’s good knockabout fun.

It’s ok, I’ve set a faster one 😂

I’m something annoying like 0.14 off a gold time right now, but I’m finding it frustrating rather that fun as I feel the car is always on edge, and the difference between it sliding and turning is 0.01 on the brakes but 0.5 on your time!

I’ll get a gold time tomorrow hopefully and put that one to bed!
