How is that even physically possible?

Pros and aliens- I wouldn't concern yourself too much with them :)  That puts you pretty much on @Varnsen's 3% guess, which is where a few of us usually end up in the weekly TT events.  (3% of the world's #1 time gets you a gold medal and 2 million credits - 5% is silver and 1 million)

Daily Race C is a good fun at the moment.  Gr3s at Dragon Trail Seaside (the right - original - way round), with mandatory Medium and Hard tyres.  MNRC seems to be standing me in good stead as I can make the medium tyres last a lap longer than everyone else, and, with a tiny bit of Jon-esque fuel saving throughout you can do it without needing a top-up, which saves you around 5 seconds in the pits.  It's good fun getting the reactions from people in the post race lobby when you magically overtake them in pits and hold them off for the win :D

The latest exchange went something like:

"How did you get past me in the pits?"

"Fuel saving"

"Doesn't that slow you down too much?"

"Well... I won, so... no?"

I did 2 laps on that Licence test and I immediately remembered why I’ve not bothered to go back and beat my initial gold times. At the end of any lap or infraction you have to re-start. Same as the Lewis DLC, stops you building up a flow

Nearly made MNRC tonight… couldn’t commit past 2030 so didnt but close/.. ;)

I did however get a bit of time on the TT, hadn’t been back to it since the first day slighter but had a good time getting faster and put a gold time in fairly comfortably before I had to switch off, which was nice!

I also had a couple of goes at the F50 thingie @Tomdominer has been doing - does the car even have brakes?!?! Youre time is very decent, its a pain with the reset each attempt and as @Junker said you dont get to build a rhythm just anger 🤬

This weekend gone was the latest World Series event.
It was an online one and was the last round of the Manufacturers before the live event Season Final in Monaco.
I don’t know why they don’t use these race settings for single player or online content? They’ve got a lot of the drivers in game already so why not make the most of it and let us re-create these races. They also have special liveries, why not put them out as well?

Anyway, all the usual incredulity about PD aside, this was a genuinely exciting and action packed race. Well worth a watch

Does that mean I will be able to sell all the engines I ‘won’ in totally legit manner…….?

I had a bash on the mount panorama circuit experience having avoided it since launch (I had some bad experience of this track in a game years ago so it was always listed as a voodoo place never to be visited by me, only watched and admired when others driving…) and my word I had fun, setting gold times on the individual sectors but only had time for a couple of attempts at the full circuit…. silver bagged and will go back to finish that one, its a bloody brilliant track and the Macca is great fun on it - bags of grip until you touch a damp curb!

Rather hilariously Lake Maggiore is broken, if you stop in the alternate pit exit it will reset you on the start finish straight skipping the final section. Not so hilariously it was being used in the daily race which has now been changed, but it also works for the track experience and the Human Comedy endurance race.

I need to finally get this now I have a steering wheel finally. Do we reckon it's likely to be in a black friday or xmas sale? Surely it will be right?

It’s been on sale already so I can imagine it will be again and defi in the run up to Christmas!

Worth every penny IMO, been the game that got me back into racing again!

Nations Cup yesterday, and again they seem to be delivering great combos with great racing. This was legit exciting to watch with cars going 4 wide at times.

That was brilliant and even better as I had backed Serrano! (Nice 500k for that)

The control those guys have is unreal, made the car look like it was on rails.

So that Nankai fella on Twitter is saying for the World Series Live Finals that start 25/11 in Monaco they’re planning on racing on a new track, so we’ll get a big update with said new track ( supposedly Road Atlanta)  next week?

Out of morbid curiosity I joined his Discord and it’s a just a depressing load of nonsense speculation.
Nothing worth getting excited about, seems like pure guesswork to me.

Kaz has tweeted his customary 3 car pic for next week’s update. Very good one I think..

Spoiler

Top left is a Sierra Cosworth RS500 I think. Got the 80s sunroof, whaletail spoiler and square louvred vents either side of the bonnet.

Top right is more tricky- it looks more modern, the long bonnet and short boot I think either a more modern Maserati Gran Turismo than the one already in the game, or maybe an Alfa Giulia Quadrofolio?

Bottom one is surely the Merc 190 Evo 2

Well since https://cardle.uk took a day off…

Spoiler

Top left, I agree, not quite the era of BTCC we want, but amazing none the less.

Top right isn’t a Maserati, and looks coupe to me given the stubby boot, so I don’t think it’s the Alfa either.

Bottom, same thing, boot too short for the Merc, another couple. They would do… another skyline / Sylvia of some form would they!?

bottom looks like a Silvia s14!

🤣

PD really hate us don't they!  I guess the Silvia is the Japanese equivalent of European hot hatches, first, or close to first performance cars with lots of mods available, and we're just reaping the 'benefits' of a Japanese developed game.  Had it been a UK developed game, presumably it'd have Saxo VTS/R, and 40 editions of various fast Fords!

Looking forward to another new track, I feel the game has stagnated a bit (or my interest for it has) in recent times, so a fresh injection is very welcome.

I wish they'd do something interesting with the money aspect in the game - a cup where you are limited to 50k credits to build a race car or whatever, though I suppose the internet makes these modes a bit redundant.

I'd like them to introduce an intro to tuning / tuning tutorial mode, taking the elements from the, Apex (can't recall the name?) book they republished and incorporating them in the game.

Yeah, I feel this a bit. I've had a bit of a break from the game. Been away a bit so it sort of just happened. Nothing that I didn't do from time to time on GT Sport mind. More new stuff would certainly help, it needs more content for sure.

Not even touched this TT. Might have a cheeky go tonight before we get started and see if I can get gold as it runs out soon.

Wednesday I think it is?

I haven't played since last Monday, but I managed a gold in about 8 laps, and then knocked a further 0.8 or so off my time with another hour or so of actually concentrating on it.  I'd say it was the easiest to gold so far - unless they've gone much quicker in the last week, in which case, I'll also be having an cheeky go tonight!

🤨 I think I did 15 laps and didnt hit gold……

I dont think I play as much as you guys so haven’t run out of tracks with plenty I dont know / haven’t got a base decent knowledge of but even then another track or three would be very welcome. Having said that I did try and play Forza 7 a week or two back (but found that you can’t buy it digitally now via Xbox store) so clearly Im looking for something else. I dont do any tuning so guess there is a big part of the game I haven’t explored at all…..

In Sport, we did a few seasons of what was at that point, FIA, one of (possibly the first race?) we did was at Interlagos.  I developed a real love of the track and practiced it lots so that might be why - or perhaps the top of the table has moved on a lot since last Monday.  That FIA round is still one of my favourite online races.

When I say we, a number of MNRC racers did it, with practice following Monday night races, including strategy talk, and of course lap comparisons / trial races.  Some of my finest online gaming memories right there.

In terms of looking elsewhere, have you tried ACC on PS5?  I probably shouldn't recommend something I haven't spent much time with, but I believe it's much better now than when I last played 6 or so months ago, and I was really enjoying it back then.

Its a track im generally good at and there was a TT before that I got gold and a pretty decent time as I recall, I think its the car/tyre combo that I probably need a bit more time to get on top of - I will have to have another go, im not far off and have a ‘best; first escort time almost 8/10 quicker so I should be ok….

I do have ACC and played it after the big 1.8 patch, I struggled to get a setup on the wheel I liked but its a very good game even if its not a looker on PS5 - GT7 graphics have really grown on me as initially I thought they were a bit sterile but then you realise how clean they are and how good that is for the actual business of driving!

Well I’m well into WRC Generations atm. So I’m having a bit of a break from GT7.

I’m with @Corranga in that I love Interlagos. If you did the Watkins Glen TT you can do this. The Jaguar FIA season we did was was marvellous, well up for that again in the next World Series.

Until then I’d suggest dipping your toes in the dailies. The lobbies seem rock solid and other than the occasional knobhead the racing is really good.

Outside of the menus when it forces you to tune, i haven't touched that part at all. I'd argue that's been a total waste of time in GT7.

Interlagos in Gr3s was probably the most common Daily race in GT Sport so don't be surprised that most of us have rinsed that track to death. I found gold fairly easy this time around but but must have done 1000s of laps around there so I'd be a bit mad if I didn't.

Just gotta put the laps in, you can do it for sure.

Cheers, I hope to have another bash before the deadline and it doesn’t feel like im far off even with not many laps - it is a shame I totally missed out on GT Sport, I was so annoyed my wheel setup wouldn’t work on the PS4 / Xbone that I didnt touch any of the more sim games for that gen :(
