Sauber Mercedes C9 in the Legendary Dealership, 3M cr,do I pull the trigger 🤔.

CDkeys for some cheapz credit!? 😂

I had another go on this earlier on, I still think this game is amazing - genuinely think its the first time the dual sense has added anything to a game (other than being a gimmick) and I can’t quite understand how good it feels on a pad. Obv the MT stuff needs to get in the sea but as someone who isnt going to spend any money on them (ive sunk hundreds into Fortnite so hardly a bastion for avoiding such stuff) I hope they do sort that and the other issues out as this could be an all time great and would be a shame for people to avoid it for the developers greed.

Bloody game.

Sat down for a few Sport mode races last night, and thanks to YouTuber “Mistah MCA” tuned my Atenza to roughly 3s/lap quicker than it used to be (it looks like max speed impacts PP so make sure your top gear is redlining at the end of the longest straight so you can “spend” those PPs elsewhere). And had some really good races. Fighting all the way for 9th kind of races.

Then I thought I’d relax with some missions, and ended up on the 30 laps of Tsukuba in changeable conditions, with fuel and tyre wear. I went for a fuel saving strategy, pitted once vs the other guys’ 2 or 3 stops, and held on for the win by 0.2s (after a 32-ish minute race). Wow.

I was all up for hating it after the outage and Kaz’s pithy “suck it up or do one” statement, but it’s just really good fun to play.

Bloody game.

Just to add more salt to the wounds, I’ve gone to boot up the game this evening and I’m getting an error:

Tried deleting cache and saved data but nothing’s worked. Currently reinstalling the game, just to re-live that launch day pain…

Exactly the same for me here after the update installed and I’m also having to reinstall. :(

Looks like the dailies are sorted a bit better and they’ve put up a test season for Nations cup and Manufacturers cup.

Single player is one thing but for me the multiplayer is where the best racing is. Other humans are a million times more interesting to race against than AI.

Nations cup you just need a stock Mazda MX-5. Going to be a bit of a banger race as it’s the first one, all 4 races are spread across next week.

Manufacturers you get to pick a make and they loan you a Gr4 and Gr3 car. Again 4 races over 8 days.

Anyone who has never touched them before and has any questions ask in here and a few of us can offer advice.

They are so dramatic and exhilarating/frustrating. The one thing in GT Sport I actually got an adrenaline rush for.

On the off chance I have to go through that again, I'm simply not going to bother. Might find out later.

Just to play devil's avocado for a minute, I know exactly the sort of player who would spend that without batting an eyelid, and they wouldn't want to buy the car if it wasn't out of easy purchasing of the average punter. The sort of player who was dropping £5k a month into CSR Racing during the launch period, and it was hard to spend that much.

So while it's absolutely ridiculous in the context of a fantasy car game for most of us to take on the equivalent of a part-time job driving cars on a loop to afford these, I understand why they're doing it.

But GT is targeted at the mass market consumer? Not a niche bunch of racers - that's why we have PC sims for those players.

The only reason they are doing it is greed pure and simple. The line has been crossed for me here TBH and if people accept it then it will be a green light going forward.

Personally having nothing to do with it. I feel the RRP for Sony's first party content a bit high TBH but with this sort of thing tagged on to it? When I look at something like say Assetto Corsa on the PC and what I got for my money on that and the fact it can be modded etc. Oh and it works with VR too.

Don't get me wrong think GT7 is a great game and have been enjoying it and will get value out of it. However this has just left me very salty against Sony / PD. Which is a shame.

I have near enough 2.6M so hopefully I can hit 3M over the weekend 🤑.

I know if I do though the Mazda 787B or Porsche 917K will drop, I’ll just need to be patient and hope new menus/events eventually balance the economy a bit.

I got that error a few weeks ago when I bought Returnal on disk. I normally buy digital but didn't want to pay 70 quid. I let it install. 40 minutes to copy the data from the disk and then another 28gig of patch. Couldn't start it. I ended up having to delete, let the copy happen but keep the patch paused until it's done. I googled about the error and found loads of people having it with loads of game and never did find a solution. Apparently Ass Creed Valhalla did it to a lot of people so it isn't just Sony published stuff either.

Cheers for this, makes a big difference, I need to make the effort to set cars up for tracks.

Oh, it's not racing game fans they're targeting. It's people who own these sorts of cars in real life and leave them parked in immaculately polished garages.

Doing a menu thing.

Upgraded a BMW, all the bling.

Get into the race and I’m owning the robotic boring AI of course.

It’s raining, but you wouldn’t know it from the outside views.

Then in a particular section the handling just disappears and from then on it’s like driving on pure ice. No traction whatsoever. Didn’t feel very realistic so I started again and sure enough first lap, tight turn, super wet.

Think FFS

Back out and slap down 25k on wet tires.

Go back and it’s sunny.

I’ve had some decent racing with the AI, side by side through corners, coming back at me etc. I think the biggest problem is that once you get a little gap they tend to just drop off. I’m sure it’s partly by design, if they kept fighting you all the time it would be a struggle to catch the leader. I hope updates and eventually Sophy improve things.

I had a race earlier where I rounded a corner and one of the AI cars had clearly lost it and was at a right angle to the track, loads of tire smoke etc. Pretty cool I thought, never seen an AI stack it in many other games like this.

I do love the rain, but it really should give you wet tyres for free. Spending a huge amount of money on them purely for one race is super annoying.

In this manufactures thing, am I stuck with who I choose forever, or just for this championship? Does it just last for a week or something?

I’m edging towards Honda or Ferrari, but have no idea what’s good.

Just for the championship season usually. Ferrari gr3 car was very challenging to drive in GT Sport. Quick but when the rear tyres started to wear you’d get unpredictable snap oversteer. Gr4 car was a peach.
Honda Gr4 I’m not sure but the Gr3 was difficult to get the best out of but very quick when you did , and when there were wet races it topped the leaderboard
