Sometimes I think they are really taking the piss. That special edition is indefensible

Suppose they will try anything to get some extra £££s in. Someone will buy it because it's the "best" version :)

Still not sure about effectively buying progress in a game (1.5m credits with the deluxe version).

I've actually been pondering over game prices and remember paying £45 for PC games back in the 90s not trying to justify Sony's pricing but factoring in inflation etc £70 would be about right I guess. guess these days given the amount of development needed. Although prices in general have got less to almost disposable levels especially with the sales etc.

What does frustrate a bit is that I know if I wait a month I will get it for £20 cheaper from somewhere. Although not sure I want it on disk TBH. Not really a fan of physical media anymore. Suppose have plenty of time to ponder over which way I'm going to go. :)

1.5M credits is next to nothing, it should be at least 20M/30M so that you could afford (I suspect) one of the historic classics. I still wouldn’t buy it though so meh.

In fact the way many classic cars are locked behind a pay wall (or grind forever instead) is the worst thing about GT Sport, they had the option to drop cars on the Daily spin etc. to help you complete your collection and give you the odd expensive historic but instead they give you the same cars over and over again, which wouldn’t have been so bad if you could sell them!

I hope the GT Cafe somehow changes this aspect of the game and actively helps you build a collection but I doubt it, they’ll still want to sell addon cars etc.

I just realised the 90 quid edition also has the soundtrack (presumably as a download)

They should be paying us to take it.

Well that depends - some of the music on the old games was excellent.  I can't be the only person who has to concentrate really hard on not speeding when Feeder comes on in the car?

It looks lovely and I'll be all over it but it definitely looks almost identical to Sport in that vid. No bad thing, Sport is beautiful but I'm hoping for a little extra pizazz in the final game on my PS5.

I'm sure I'll be happy with the game graphically when it hits, don't think a GT has failed on the wow since the first.

Always loved that track too.

The lighting and reflections on the cars is way better than Sport can do, the detail in the crowd seems more to.

On the other hand, the Aston looks a bit plasticy due to the shine on it and the identical to Sport HUD is doing it no favours.

Sport is probably my most played game now (having not really played it until last May) so I’m properly all in from day 1, looking forward to the new (old) tracks and cars

Presumably they have to transition the FIA GT series competition over from GT Sport to GT7, which might have something to do with the similarities. It might even be responsible for some of making the decision to go cross-gen - I’d be willing to bet a fair number of their ‘star’ drivers won’t even have a PS5. You could rule out all the Japanese competitors for a start - Kokubun/Yamanaka/Miyazono etc.

Yamauchi is all about the eSport side now, but I wonder how much autonomy he has in the Sony machine.

Is it just me or do the in car noises - diff whine and gearbox noise and brakes all sound a bit more aggressive like Assetto Corsa Competizione? The rumble over one of the kerbs sounded a bit different as well.

Makes me hopeful it’s not just a warmed  up GT Sport and actually a big step forward.

Looks smart, is there anything approaching a decent pre-order package or are they all bollocks?

Nice to see the now retired ford in there....🙄

Haven't really been looking as I'm buying digital for convenience, but I have seen...

Physical/disc wise

It's £58 at coolshop.co.uk for the basic version with no confirmation on any preorder bonus.

It's £60 are thegamecollection with confirmation of the digital stuff preorder pack (the digital version comes with this stuff too, but I assume it'll be a code for physical)

•100,000 CR (in-game credit)

•Three-car pack, including:

-MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT Stealth Model.

-Porsche 917 LIVING LEGEND.

-Toyota Supra GT500 '97 (Castrol TOM'S).

Which might be a sensible start for MNRC post launch if we all end up with it.

I saw a website stating there are 2 potential physical preorder bonuses, but no UK website has posted anything with them yet (I expect it'll be one or the other, with different retailers offering them, possibly one being exclusive to a certain retailer etc.)

I like the coasters.  Damn you expensive digital version :(

Edited to add (versions notes and RRP):

Digital standard - full price of course:

PS4 - £60

PS5 - £70 (it's been confirmed this comes with PS4 and PS5 versions)

You can upgrade from 4 to 5 for £10 at a later date

The PS4 disc version is upgradable to the PS5 version for £10, but you'll need a PS5 with a disc, and to put the disc in to prove you own it.

The PS5 disc version won't work in a PS4.

Anniversary Edition:

This one is taking the piss digitally, but might be beneficial physically, not sure...

It's £90.

Digitally, you get in addition to the above preorder digital stuff and the game:

1,000,000 CR (in-game credit)

FIA Gran Turismo Championships World Series Model - Toyota GR Yaris with country-specific livery

30 manufacturer & partner PSN Avatars

The Music of Gran Turismo 7 Soundtrack  (presumably an mp3 download code or something, unconfirmed)

The physical however also has

Exclusive SteelBook® case

PS5 Disc with PS4 Game Voucher

The launch website says:

"25th Anniversary Edition, the steel book will include a PS5 game disc and a voucher for a digital version of the PS4 game and the 25th Anniversary Edition additional content."

This might mean you get 2 separate copies of the game, which might mean you could upgrade that to a PS5 digital copy for a tenner

Which might mean you have 2 complete ps5 copies, 1 disk, 1 download for £100 both with the additional DLC, but who knows.

Is there a handy table or similar that shows the differences between the PS4 & 5 version? There's a bit of info here and a bit of info there - is it all in once place anywhere? Just working out which version I want.

Not that I’ve noticed. Probably keep an eye out on GTPlanet though as they put out lots of summaries of info known so far

OK. I don't have a PS5 currently or a 4K tV. All I want is the best at 1080p. I'm not going to upgrade my telly but my console is a GT only machine, so I would buy a digital PS5  just for it, if the load times are way better and the haptic feedback is as good as it sounds.   If I deem the differences to be not worth it, I'll stick with a PS4 pro.

I don't think you can make a racing game based on real circuits, or...and i've made this word up.... "fictoreal" circuits, that different.

The changes are probably going to be minimal (its more colourful fo sure) but nevertheless it hasn't stopped me paying £650 odd quid to pretty much just play this game.

And that fucking platformer with the little robot.

I for one can't wait to see the old circuits finally done some justice.

I'd love Polyphony to team with Google Earth, let us select up to 10 miles of road, and then run an AI scan over it to sharpen textures, importing the result to our game. Invisible barriers for side roads, obviously.

I wouldn't mind waiting a while for the conversion process, and I'd be happy to pay a sub for the cloud.

Google has the 3D data for amazing recreations, with all the correct pavements, elevations and walls, but they'd have to be convinced to share it for localised conversions, and Sony'd need the hardware to serve millions of requests.

Inevitably it’ll run better on Ps5, off loading times alone are of interest, the PS5 runs GT Sport runs the PS4 Pro version with significantly shorter loading times. You can tell in online practice lobbies as the PS5 players are on track way before the 4 users due to the SSD.

I don’t think we’ve even seen it running on a 4 yet and of course the pro will add even more complications to the version comparison.

However, from what you’ve said and considering It’s supposed to be the same game you could go digital with the PS4 version for 60 quid then pay the extra tenner at a later date to upgrade if you switch to a 5. By that time plenty of us will have opinions.
