Who has the longest filmography?

I was just wondering about this, because I have a contender after seeing him voice a baby bird that was on screen for about four seconds.

So I’m gonna go with Frank Walker.

Who else could be in the running?

Mel Blanc has more credited titles listed on IMDb (1230) than Frank Welker (865).

But that's titles - if you add up individual TV episodes, they'll both be much higher!

But then you get into questions like: should TV episodes, short films, and feature films all be counted the same way? And do you only count just the original performances, because there are a lot of actors who specialise in dubbing things into other languages who'll have extremely long CVs.

Christopher Lee and Peter cushing both had insane filmographies and I always liked the quote from Lee that was essentially "I may have been in a lot of terrible films but I wasn't the most terrible thing in them"

Which I kind of have to respect, the difference between what you might think a script will be when your agent sends it to you compared to when you show up to some trailer in the middle of nowhere to film an epic on a shoestring...

James Hong is apparently one of the most prolific screen actors (although he has done his fair share of voice roles too) with around 600 credits.

I was going to guess Mel Blanc, but another one in that voice artist mould would be Casey Kasem. He’s done some really long-running shows/characters so although he has less individual credits, some of the shows lasted years and years.
