Btw I was watching video recommendations for games and came across one called Dead… something, or Death..  it looked liked an isometric version of Enter The Gungeon - I can’t for the life of me find the video now, does anyone know which game it might be?

I don’t think they are doing it in house (I don’t think any PS ports have been so far), though I can’t imagine they’d chance it with an unproven entity.

Having played both on my PS5 I would be of the opinion that Control is not as advanced/demanding as TLOU part 1.

I’m at risk of sounding like I’m trying to put you off so don’t be, having double dipped on plenty of PS games so I can replay them handheld I know the appeal. I just think in this case TLOU part 1 is a game that’s existence mostly hinges on it looking and sounding bonkers good and deserves to be played on appropriate hardware.

Of course, the benefit of buying anything to play on your steam deck is that even if you’re playing a compromised version of it, it will still be in your library if you ever make the leap to getting a ‘proper’ PC (which is the justification I’ve used on a couple of my steam purchases for sure, I don’t have a desktop machine myself).

I reckon it’s Death’s door! Start with Tunic.

No it’s not that, it’s really pixely, literally looks like a more isometric version of Gungeon, the gameplay and everything is really similar. Don’t worry Tunic is there, I had to stop myself playing it on Xbox, but even though I played a few hours it’s so good I’m actually looking forward to starting again knowing what I know ;)

Ooh I quite like the look of that, don’t think it’s the one though, it is more of a basic twin stick shooter - think Isaac or Gungeon. I’ll have to go back and see if I can find it.

My list is getting big now. How is Roadwarden on Deck? I’ve read the text is small but I can play that one docked with kb/m.

So many games on PC that haven’t made their way to console.

Nixxes do most of their ports. They bought them iirc.

BLOODBORNE CONFIRMED

I wouldn't be shocked! The last major last gen exclusive I can think of and they've bought a porting specialist for a r reason...

Nixxes didn't do the dodgy Horizon port and it shows (apparently they did work on patches for it after the fact).

Has anyone played Burnout Paradise on this? Both are unsupported but seeing mixed reports on them actually working

I've got the original Burnout Paradise (Ultimate Box), and it works fine for the couple hours I've played on Deck.

Fuck knows about the remastered version, mind.

That's what I already have. I assume the online side is dead?

was it this? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1484720/Dead_Estate/ (I think I may have watched the same video as you - this was the only thing that looked like it might be worth checking out)

Tip for anyone who plays visual novels (or really any games like them) - map the touch sensitive surface of one of the analogue sticks to left mouse click. Makes all the clicking way more tolerable than hammering right trigger or a.

Getting a little frustrated with Desktop mode. With a mouse attached via the official dock, I can't click on certain items. Instead, the curser shows small left and right arrows (on left click) making navigation impossible.

Any pointers?

Is it a wireless mouse? Try changing the socket the adapter is in.

Are you trying to use the mouse to navigate Steam's 'Big Picture' mode — i.e. the non-desktop mode that the Deck defaults to (with the big chunky icons to browse etc.)? Because yeah, one of its great annoyances is that it doesn't properly support cursor navigation at all; you need to use a joypad or keyboard to be able to interact properly with it. If you want to use a mouse to actually interact with Steam itself, you'll need to switch to desktop mode.

Oh, that is odd! I've had occasional problems like that, but only after using games with troublesome launchers (where the launcher tries to stay in the background after the game ends, and somehow ends up interfering with the Steam layer).

Lara Croft & The Temple of Osiris, the old XBLA isometric one - just got a steam code for £2.84 with the DLC tombs in the humble sale, shows as deck unsupported but runs just fine with no tweaks needed.

Played the first tomb and it's really nice looking and plays well still.
