In the end I grabbed:

Far Cry 2

The Orange Box

Vanquish

Hotline Miami 2

Fallout 3 GOTY edition

Fallout 4

Batman Arkham City

Max Payne 3

GTA 4 Complete Edition

Yakuza 0

Metal Gear Solid 5

For a total sum of £46.67. Also nabbed Dragon’s Dogma for £4 last week. That should do me for Steam Decking for the next couple of years or so.

Have you tried Gamepass on SD? There's loads of them in that list for free on that for the moment!

Gamepass is such a ball ache to setup on the deck that it's not worth the effort tbh.

Unless you’re talking about the non-cloud version, it really isn’t.

But yeah, I’d take a native version for a few quid over a cloud version any day of the week.

Definitely talking about the non-cloud version. Cloud gamepass is mostly useless to how I play games.

Jeez, I was not expecting almost my entire wishlist to be in sale.

Literally 13/15 of the games. Thankfully one of those was the Endwalker expansion for FFXIV which I’ve been debating purchasing for quite a while!

You managed to install and register Endwalker at all? I’ve bought it (again) but can’t figure out how to install it. There was a meaty update when I logged into the FFXIV launcher which I assumed was Endwalker being installed, but I seem to be locked out of its content.

EDIT: Sorted, had to do it via the Mog Station site on a separate device.

I concur (albeit I'm playing the emulated, PS2 undub romhack of Persona 3:FES, because I'm particularly cool). Portable Persona is best Persona.

Between that, SoulCalibur, Power Stone and Crazy Taxi in bed, it's a machine that's bringing me much joy as a portable emulator. Even better that it does so with minimum effort on its part — not even troubling the fan to kick up. If only it were a bit less meaty; as I'd worried, I can't manage more than a couple of hours at a time as it's just too uncomfortable to hold for longer than that!

On the other hand, the dock I bought to alleviate that issue (allowing me to prop up the Deck and play with a controller) was an absolute hero today; we had to make an impromptu rearrangement of our D&D session as a couple of people had colds, and I was able to set up the docked Deck with my TV and webcam to enable the rest of us to meet up and Skype the others from my couch. So maybe I should thank its cumbersome design for driving me to get the dock in the first place!

Picked up a 1TB SD card on Amazon for £95 in Black Friday deal for my deck as running out of space on my 512GB card from all the awesome emulation I’ve been dabbling in lately.  Seems like a good deal

If I want to transfer my Emudeck files over to the new SD card are there any quirks or will a copy and paste job just work?  Thinking of copying to my windows PC then moving back over to the new SD card

I’ve done a card upgrade twice but when emudeck and the roms were all on the old smaller SD, straight copy worked then no prob, just the whole emulation folder.

You’ll need to get emudeck to recognise your move though if going from internal to external storage, not sure if that a reinstall or easier way to repoint

I started playing a bit of Noita last night, some folks here rave about it. Plays well on the deck and seems interesting, not got a clue what to do though yet beyond explore and try not to die. Really confused when escaping a level and getting out into some inventory design screen thing for wands

A deck isn't even remotely required for those games, and possibly even P3 via AetherSX2 - you could probably downsize to a Retroid device and not experience any performance downsides while your hands thank you.

Ridge Racer 7, Outrun 2 and VF5, on the other hand.. Well, there's nothing matching or beating the Deck unless you spend another few hundred quid. And even at that point, you're either having to bodge HoloISO onto it or getting annoyed at all the inconveniences Windows brings.

Im sending my Steam Deck back due to drifting issues on one of the sticks. They have sent me an RMA slip, and also said they had sent a pre-paid shipping label, but I cant find it. It does say that you can download the shipping label at any time from Steam Help, but I cant actually find it. Does anyone know where you can access these documents?

I had my link on a direct email (from noreply@steampowered.com)

I can't use my deck this evening :(

Spoiler

It's downloading Cyberpunk. It's going pretty fast for a WiFi connection, but it's going to take until bedtime. I fear if I download RDR2 I'll end up collecting my pension when it's done

Can’t you dock it/use Ethernet?

I don't think it would matter, it's hitting the limit for what my broadband can actually do (8.6MB/s, so about right for 70Mbps). It's as fast as I can get in this area.

It's more a problem that it's a 70GB game, and RDR2 is 120GB. That, and the SD card seems to throttle when it's too hot after being written to for ages. Weather's helping, mind!

Is the Deck supposed to automatically check for updates? Mine hadn’t in 4 weeks!

Sort of, I think?

When it's on desktop it will immediately check for all the package updates on Discover.

But I've only just got the new update for Stable branch. Might be because my deck never connects online because of the sleep mode and using it at work constantly.

In all: idk lol

Why did I buy a PS5 2 months ago I ask myself? I sold off some of my collection to make some space and spent some of it a PS5 and a SD. I've not touched the PS5 in 6 weeks.

I'm drowning in games to play on it. Ordered a 256GB SSD cheap to upgrade it and shoved a 400GB SD card in it.

This week I've picked up more in the steam sales and some key sites, playing through Singularity of it using Gyro mode and tried out some Saturn emulation with Sega Rally.

Just this week ive grabbed:

Halo Master Chief Collection

Titanfall 2

Tomb Raider Anniversary

Super Woden GP

Ex Zodiac

Maid of Skir

Huntdown

XIII (Original)

Mighty Switch Force Collection

Sonic Mania

Demons Tilt

Blasphemous

And I've not even spent £50 on them! Asked my wife for a dock for Xmas so my daughter can join me in some co op.

I started Cyberpunk on the deck, threw in some settings from this guide, only to have a really unstable 30fps.

Tromped through the Street Kid bit in a huff, only to think "hang on, is there a frame limiter in game?"

There was, it was on 30fps, and I forgot to turn it off. It's much better now!

And then I went to bed near midnight, lol

Is there cross save with Xbox do you know?

I've completed the main story on series X but the idea of being able to jump back in at the same point in handheld mode is worth €30 asking price on steam for me.

Yes, apparently. Couldn't tell you how it works, mind. I think the only existing save I have is from a PC version already (GOG), and I couldn't be arsed retrieving it.

I'm guessing you have to register to whatever shit CDPR wanted in the Xbox version, and then using those details to log into REDLauncher when you're asked on the deck. I didn't bother as I'll just find the file I want on my big computer, but it'll be the best way on a console.

Whats a fair price for selling a 256gb steam deck you think? Need money for christmas presents right now and a couple of other bills. Got a few must have extras 4k 60hz HDMI/memory card/USB hub, 512gb memory card, new boxed unfitted screen protector, silicone case and i would want rid of it all together.
