Cambridge 2 Plymouth Argyle 0

I paid £10 to stream it. I wish I hadn't. It was awful. I can see why Cambridge don't lose much on their home pitch. It's really narrow and bobbly. We couldn't play our normal game on a surface like that and the time wasting was incredibly frustrating. Cambridge put eleven behind the ball for 90 minutes and scored against the run of play. Probably the worst game I've watched in a long time.

Not sure what the fuck happened to have those players in those positions for this photo of a goal to happen, I wisely avoided the stress of radio commentary and went to the pub, but I'm looking forward to the highlights tomorrow.

The keeper

Chesterfield 0 - Wrexham 2

I went to the Cambridge v Accrington game at the weekend. Sounds very similar to yesterday.

Back in the Jon Beck long ball era, Cambridge used to mess up the pitch deliberately. They put extra sand down in the corner areas to dry them out, so hoof merchants like Alan Kimble could just lob the ball down there.

Looks like Ipswich threw away points last night, lots of attempts but few on target.

Another decent result for us (Southend United) a draw against play-off team Solihull Moors, which makes it eleven league games unbeaten now. Next up is a tough match away at second placed Chesterfield.

New stadium progression is moving slowly further to actually starting after the council lawyer have signed off the planning applications

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. 2-0 up playing well, then let it slip. Absolutely sickening, although I think we should have been down to 10 men quite early. Brother-in-law-to-be said at half time (1-0) "as a neutral I don't see how you can lose this".

Hospitality was great, it was really nice to be able to sit around and drink with table service instead of being cramped up in a corner of a cold concourse with a plastic cup and queues. We had one of the stand sponsors on our table who turned up 10 minutes before the match wearing shades, didn't get any chat out of him. There was a bit of an awkward moment when we turned up at our match seats and one of our best player's family were sitting in them. I'm glad my dad made it home after 7 pint of Guinness.

This season has shades of 2000 when we were clear of the relegation zone for the whole season apart from the final day.

Three games in a row now for me. Sheffield Wednesday (h) tomorrow, Ipswich (a) on tues and Wimbledon (a) on Sat. We are absolutely rubbish (at the moment?) with a terrible home form and the defeat last week for the first time made me question the manager. His methods aren't to be working under the coshh and is reluctant to change it. I didn't mind his static touchline pose when we were doing well. Now it's pissing me off.  Poor poor poor.  Relegation form.   Ah well, bring on tomorrow, should be tasty with Wednesday bringing a full house.

3-1... that's terrible is it? 😛

Another impressive result for Southend United, we played away as second in the division Chesterfield, I was expecting a real test today.  A 88th minute own goal secured us a draw, I'll take that :)

We are now unbeaten in twelve league games, all the way back from December. Looking promising

:) We played really well and never let Wednesday get going. Super atmosphere with a full stadium and 2000 away fans.  Great goals from us. Makes the journey back to London far more pleasant! Looking forward to Ipswich on Tues.

One of the things that makes me a) feel old and b) wonder what might have been is that the first football club I properly followed home and away - Colne Dynamoes - were regularly beating Morecambe, Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley in the late 80s before they went bust.

Wrexham 4 Boreham Wood 2. Brushed aside their shithousery and battered the best defence in the league second half. Brilliant lively crowd under the floodlights and the best home game in ages.

We beat them 3-0 in the trophy, but last night's proper game was always going to be better indication of exactly how good we are at the moment. We're very good at the moment. Parkinson has now filled all his key roles with league two and league one standard players, it's clicking, and surprisingly enough, we actually look like a side from a higher league in games. If Stockport continue their ridiculous form then no team is getting that automatic promotion slot other than them, but you never know!

6 wins in a row.

@Angles Morts - work's mental at the moment (15 hour days x 3 so far this week and a long one on Tuesday) so I've not had much forum time.

Well, we beat you 2-0 on Tuesday. I left work and just got to the ground in time to see the sides walk out before kick off and I was surprised at how small Wimbledon were apart from the big number 9.

You started frantically and were overrunning us in midfield and overlapping constantly in the first fifteen.  Cross after cross went in and there was nobody on the end of them apart from once when your big lad Sam Cosgrove hit the post when he really should have scored.  After that, his head turned into a 50p and he couldn't direct a thing.  We scored a bit against the run of play through a sublime Mayor through ball and Hardie banged in the first goal.  After that, Wimbledon really didn't look much of a threat and we had the better of the second half, scoring a second to end it with a well worked goal from Ryan Broom.

I was impressed with your captain - was it Woodyard?  He looked quality but as you've already posted many times, you have a team of what looks like schoolboys.

We've got pretty much all of the top to play in the run in apart from Rotherham.  It's going to be interesting.

We finally won a Tuesday night game - our record is abysmal on a Tuesday.

Watch your injury time shot against the post right at the end - it's really unlucky.

I hope you stay up as you really try to play football and didn't try and waste time once.

Another clean sheet, this next game against Portsmouth is shaping up to be a real turning point in the season for both teams

Knew this was going to be a difficult game. We basically did nothing to threaten you. You nullified everything efficiently. We weren't terrible, it was that you were pretty good. :)  Was great to be at PR with big crowd (25k) under the floodlights.

Thanks for the write up, I avoided listening on iFollow as it's too depressing at the moment. Pretty sure we'll go down now, hopefully the managers and players will learn something from it and won't be scarred.

Wrexham are one game away from Wembley now after beating Notts County 2-1 away in the Trophy last night. Streamed on the Internet.  A close game, both sides rested players, but then ended the match more full strength with subs that added a bit of extra excitement late on. I do love watching Burchnall's Notts County, they play some great passing attacking football, always threaten, and aren't that arsed about being a bit vulnerable at the back. Same 5 at the back formation as us, but it's interesting the difference  in the the way Parkinson has us playing with our energy and directness which can be quite exciting to watch too. Notts County came close with a penalty shout and hitting the bar, but James Jones powered through their defence for our winner on this occasion.

Wrexham vs Notts County would potentially be an amazing playoff final.

I had a sinking feeling today that we'd lose. 0-1 away at Bolton. Fantastic result. That's a double over Bolton. We're in the mix.

Over 1000 away fans.

AFC Wimbledon 0 - Lincoln City 2

Great away day for me and the other 900 Imps. Lovely weather. The new Plough Lane is a funny one as you can't see it until you're on top of it due to the flats etc around it.  It's functional and does the job but the bit we were in still has that 'temporary structure' feel.  You can cause a lot of noise by banging on the floor and sides! :D

Very friendly stewards and Brixton ales on tap. They were great hosts.

Took the lead  in the first half from a strike from our guy on loan from Man City.  Then for about 15mins at the start of the 2nd Wimbledon had a bit of pressure but couldn't do anything with it. Dodgy ref, for both sides. We had a man sent off around 70mins. Should have been a yellow, looking back, but hey ho. Wimbledon also might have had a pen on another day.   Then in the mid-80s as my nerves were jangling, John Marquis closed down the keeper out of position, blocked and sqaured to Teddy Bishop who coolly slotted it home. Thank you very much.

Bit more daylight now between us and them in the league. Just a few more points please.
