I've used my wildcard. Lol.

To bring in who? Yet to see Lukaku and Kane might move. Unless you've managed for those...

Benrahma was not on my radar at all. Some of the teams at the top of the rllmuk league are identical. For all the fretting i did about DCL, Ings, Wilson, Antonio..they all scored and I'm left thinking the ones i don't have are better options going forward.

Football is weird, Pogba got 4 assists in one game but in two previous seasons that was his total and last season it was 6. Obviously he had a few better seasons where this season might be more in line with...

I was going to transfer out Salah for De Bruyne for these next 2 fixtures. That's the kind of radical thinking that will bring me to the top get me nowhere. Ultimately, i didn't do it because i don't think De Bruyne will be risked against Norwich. I just know they're getting battered and don't know which player will take the points. I could have done Jota to Grealish too. But it could be Sterling or Mahrez who take the points. 2 free transfers! I feel rich. But i don't have the funds in the bank to swap those 4m defenders out for good ones...

Kept faith with Toney and Buendia and used my FTs to shuffle my defence (out: Targett & Tsimikas, in Tanganga & Ayling). First bit paid off, at least!

Need to decide what to do about Villa’s fixture swing now, and work out when to get one of Kane, Lukaku or Ronaldo in, and whether Bruno or Salah will make way.

I’m sure a lot of wildcards will be flying this international break, but I always like to save mine to navigate the Christmas fixture congestion if possible.

Want to save my WC but have a few players needed moved on; Tsimi, White, Manquilo definitely and probably Richarlison and Jota. Though if Firmino has picked up an injury the latter may stay a bit longer.

In an ideal world Bruno, Lukaku, Kane and all of Man City will pick up season ending injuries during the international break 😅👀

It's been a great opening few weeks but things will get more interesting from here on thanks to Kane, Lukaku, and Ronaldo mixing things up.

Decisions, decisions.

I see quite a few wildcards were already been deployed to bring in Lukaku early and it's a relief to see that not pay off...yet, at least!

Lukaku being so back to goal concerns me a little. He's laying off the ball but i want him taking more shots and being on the end of chances. He used to score a brace then go missing for 3 games. He'll be influential in this Chelsea but for his price I'm not sure whether Chelsea will share the goals around for him to be worth it. He got more assists at Inter but for the price it's not enough.

Ronaldo...fuck knows. Whether he takes penalties, whether he'll carry his Juventus scoring record over. He needs to be fed when united struggle against compact defences and looking at today the crossing was crap. He’s not running in behind but he can do what Greenwood did today.

I own Wilson too so probably needs to be shipped out. United's fixtures though turn hard so it's hard to predict.

I prefer to look at my overall rank of 982,541 as only 89 points off the number 1 player. I suppose by November it will be 500 points and I'll be saying...how did that happen.

My mistakes this season were not deciding on a Chelsea defender and thinking Leicester and Leeds would start fast. West Ham...i don't think their form even makes much sense.

I can't quite figure out if I think this is low or not.

Like, his goals in other leagues make me think it could be slight undervaluation, but he's older, in an arguably more dysfunctional team... 🧐

Back in the day he managed to get up to 14.2! Tottally different type of player now really I guess?

EDIT: I guess he would have been a midfielder back them, which changes the points a bit.

It'll be interesting to see how the game devides, there are a few viable premium forwards now, whereas 3 weeks ago it was all down to where Kane would be.

The last few weeks have completely changed the game (for the better IMHO) from the Salah + Fernandes snorefest it looked like it might be.

Lukaku, Kane, and Ronaldo are all very attractive options.

😂 WTF?!

Too low or too high?? 12.5m is what i expected. It would be a bit insulting to price a 36 year old who hasn't played in the premier league for a decade over much younger peak players who have been performing in the league for consecutive seasons, i think, like Kane and Salah. And Ronaldo only got a few more goals in serie a over Lukaku who is 1m less (and Lukaku got more assists so points wise not dissimiliar)

Too high I reckon.  I'm not expecting him to be priced 8.0 but 12.5 (same as Salah and 0.2 over Kane) seems excessive for someone who hasn't played in the Premier League for over a decade and is 36.

Ah okay that makes sense. 12m then or same as Lukaku? Fantasy towers will be looking at the last two serie A seasons though where he scored 60 goals in 66 games, which neither Kane or Salah have managed that goals to game ratio.

Kane and Salah would have scored double that if they played for Juventus in that shitty league.

Exactly - it's the Italian league, not exactly peak football, that's part of the reason why I think 12.5 is high.

EDIT: If I was going to make a comparison with the Premier League, I'd say that in the last two (three - COYS) seasons we've had more Premier League teams in the final 4 of the Champions League than Serie A teams, and England are ranked higher in the UEFA Coefficient stats and have been since 2017.

I'm unsure what to make of Ronaldo from an FPL perspective. It's very likely that he gets penalties and free kicks, even though Bruno is better at them. He'll also probably start most games, but definitely not all of them. The question there is which games will he miss? Will he miss out on easy games where you want him to play and haul because the have a tricky CL fixture midweek? More than likely.

The other thing about him I find slightly off putting is his captain potential. If you are paying 12.5 million for a player, you do it so you can captain them for those games where they go goal crazy. Ronaldo has only scored one league hat-trick in the past 2 seasons. He only scored one hat trick when he was originally at Man Utd. He's scored 57 hat tricks in his career, but they were almost all against absolutely awful opponents, like Getafe, or Lithuania. If he keeps up his standard league goalscoring record, but does it in a goal a game kind of a way, and you constantly captain him, you get the benefit of almost guaranteed captain points, but you will get really screwed when Kane, Salah or Lukaku get a big haul and are heavily captained.

The only thing sure thing you can say about Ronaldo is that his arrival completely ruins Bruno as a premium asset. Half his points total last year where from pens and FKs, so he's definitely not worth the outlay with Ronaldo in the team. Bruno will almost definitely be out of my team before the next gameweek, but whether or not his money goes in to Ronaldo is definitely up for debate.

Hasn't Ronaldo only scored something like once from the last 50 free kicks he's taken, surely they can't justify taking Bruno off them. Will definitely be taking the penalties mind

Oh yeah, he's awful at free kicks. But he's Ronaldo, the worlds biggest manchild. He probably still gets to take them anyway.

Even if Bruno keeps FKs, he scored 18 goals last season, 9 were pens. He's scored 29 goals in the PL, 19 of them were penalties. Take away his penalties from last season, thats 45 points lost already (not factoring in BAPs gained from goals, so maybe another 10-20 points on top of that) and automatically he becomes the worst premium pick in terms of points per million.

He could very well end up assisting the hell out of Ronaldo, or end up getting more goals because of the space Ronaldo makes for him, but I think it's way more likely he drops off over the course of the season. He might end up keeping penalties, but I don't see it. I'm definitely looking to get rid. Doing it before a game against Newcastle could bite me in the arse short-term, but long term I think it's the right move.

Part of me is considering getting in Lukaku against a Villa defence with probably no Mings, and potentially no Martinez. I'm probably too much of a dullard though and will go for Ronaldo anyway.

For penalties i think Fernandes will want to please Ronaldo and Ole will be too in thrall to demand anything, will look to Fernandes who will just shrug, not wanting to but accepting. It's not just the rule change but no Martial, Rashford, James running at defenders. (I haven't checked but I'm sure Martial was the main provider of penalties, i think he'll be peripheral all season, Rashford not back for months, James gone). If Fernandes was getting like 9 penalties a season I'd expect maybe 3. I suppose there's Sancho with his direct dribbling.

I asked on reddit how many people think Ronaldo will score this season because...I'm bored. I said 22 in 35 games. Zlatan got 17 in 28 and Cavani 10 in 26. 15-20 would be the average guess.

Someone on there said 30+. I think that won't happen in a million years and I'm not going to compare him with all the players in the past who didn't score that many. It's a miraculous every single thing going right it was meant to be season to do that.

James Horncastle on the totally football show was talking about Ronaldo's arrival like it was a death. 'People think he's purely a centre forward but he never played there at Juventus, he played out wide because that's where the space is'. 'Dybala would look to him and the chance would go'. Like he's such a big player everything revolves around him to the team's detriment. Are United a cohesive fluid team? I don't think they were going to win the league anyway so i don't think he jeopardizes that. There's loads of tricky fixtures coming up and it's hard to know. Ronaldo will have his goal scoring moment, we all can see it but it's just when and how.

There's uncertainty if he'll start or not. I don’t think he will. There's a fantasy he'll hammer Newcastle but how often do Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, Cavani score braces? Rashford got his first hat trick against Leipzig on the counter, when the chances were clear cut. When teams give them space it's phenomenal how incisive they are compared to how inept they are against deep defences. It's all the final ball and no build up, no play. Is Ronaldo going to be making runs from Pogba through balls? Are the crosses going to be consistent enough and good enough for headers? Or will he do what Greenwood did vs Wolves and cut inside and score from essentially nothing? However he gets goals i don't think he's got the potential to score braces or goal and assist like other premiums do. 22 goals is still as many as Salah got last season if that's what he manages. Not captain material though i don't think if he doesn't have the potential to score more than one in a game.

I took Fernandes out weeks ago as more options appeared and would take him out now too before price drops but many are taking -8 hits for Ronaldo which i think is silly.

Lukaku has 6 in 8 against Villa but Chelsea lost to them in April and the previous 3 games were tight. I kind of thought Lukaku would get a brace and be the best captain choice for gw4 but i don't know because of that.

I've dropped my wildcard on the back of Ronaldo, as others have said Fernandes is likely to take a hit in points accommodating him in the team so I've kicked him out. My initial thought was to just get Ronaldo in, but given that Kane's drama has already seen him drop in value, I've gone for him instead.

Taking Ronaldo is a high risk, high reward situation. Obviously, he still has the potential to be incredible, but if he doesn't have a good game against Newcastle (or even start the game), there's a lot of value to be lost too. Of course, I haven't picked him, so there's no risk at all for anyone else, he's guaranteed to get a debut hattrick.

Me picking my team for week 4:

"Bah, why did I scrimp on keepers? I suppose of my two options, Guaita is probably the least likely to concede..."

Week 4 results:

Guaita: Keeps clean sheet :D

Zaha: Scores, gets 12 points :D

THANK YOU, CRYSTAL PALACE

I'm trying this season to be more patient and that paid off at weekend with Toney and Ben White (again). In past seasons, they'd both have been out by now. Just a shame about their price drops 😬

At 23k in the World right now. Major nosebleed territory for me!

Took a 4 point hit and brought in Vardy and Sarr for Antonio and Mahrez.  Paid off with 88 points - top of the rllmuk league and top 3k overall!!!

Would be happy if the season finished now.  Downhill from here on out for sure.
