Palace v Newcastle

Geordie fans seemed excitable on the train from London Bridge, one managed to fit 6 cans of Carlsberg in various parts of his trousers (I assume in hopes of sneaking them into the ground).

Not too sure about this one, we could be the 'dead cat bounce' game post-Bruce before they revert to previous form.

Don’t Norwich always walk the Championship? Then in the Premier League they are hopeless, maybe get up through the play offs next time😉

It just proves that you can't be promoted and be a sustainable club in the Premier League. There are odd exceptions, maybe Burnley, but it's rare.

7-0 :(

Yeah, you can make any argument you like about the difference between the Championship and Premier League but Norwich beat Brentford by 10 points last year and they're already that far behind after 8 games of this and of course Brentford have a game in hand.

Palace threw away points for the 4th game in a row, absolutely dreadful waste of an opportunity.

Ref was shocking today, but that wasn't the reason we didn't win, lack of creativity around the box and passing it continually around the back rather than going forward did us today.

Norwich have a worse squad than before but, more importantly, they've done nothing to change their game to suit the PL. They didn't two years ago either, they are not good enough to try and play the way they do.

I don't think their issues are money related as much as poor recruitment. I mean Kabak showed last season with Liverpool that he wasn't good enough for the league at his age, yet he's been thrown into a poor team and he will be expected to step up.

Was at Palace Newcastle thanks to a mate having a spare. Looked very much like a team trying to get used to a new system / manager / additions to the squad. Could have been more direct but think they’ll be fine.

Newcastle though, they are utter pony. Time-wasting from their first goal kick, no real shape and uninspiring substitutes. Their fans make a decent din but felt very much like watching a team destined for little more than a long relegation battle.

What a shame if they go down, said no one ever.

Managed to avoid all the Prem scores yesterday so it was a great MOTD especially trying to figure out what was going to happen next in Everton vs Watford (didn’t guess correctly) and what the next misfortune would occurs in Norwich (assume they ran over a dog on the way home and the chippie was closed).

Lineker actually read out a statement saying there was bad news to report and that bad news was the Palace banner!

As in he thinks the banner is the problem?

It was a weird statement as it was something like "some bad news as Palace are being investigated for a banner supporters held up criticising the new Newcastle owners human rights abuses"

The 'bad news' but at the start was odd.

I think that's deftly done. It is bad news that they're being investigated for it.
