As fun as it is watching Spurs go up the pitch every few minutes, the lack of quality in decision making is maddening. I can't grasp why professional players struggle so much in all deciding what the method of attack should be. They must practice them. The dithering, offsides, running into eachother, argghhhh.

God, just; right i pass to you, i wait for the square pass. There aren't that many options yet players give the impression all they really want to do is shoot but it's not on and they know it's not on so not passing is just them refusing what they should do.

A player was running from wide into space and Moura just tried a baffling through ball direct to the keeper where the player was supposed to out pace the defender and beat the keeper to it in space that wouldn't allow it. Literally everyone watching that live is thinking they would have played it differently. Spurs will rue this if it ends 1-2.

Sky were excitedly shouting how the starting lineup cost around £600m and the bench £350m.

It would be interesting to see how that compares to other Premier League clubs all time spending.

Micah Richards was trying to point out the racism in the difference in the way Pogba and Kane are talked about, but the usual suspects - Souness and that Dave prick shut him down.  Sky are appalling.

Kyogo for Celtic is going to be some player. No doubt he will be in the premier league soon enough.

He's involved in almost everything in this highlights package. Must be  terrifying player to be up against. He even halfed Andy Halliday.

Celtic had a scarcely believable 36 shots in that game and 14 corners, Ange Postecoglou's style of football is so incredibly entertaining to watch.

The media somehow created this Grealish hype train. He's alright, but he's not top 4 player. Madness.

He’s fucking brilliant mate.

Statistically he’s up there with anybody in the Premier League.  He’s not going to have the ball as much at Manchester City as he did at Villa, but then he’s not going to get doubled up on every week either.  Give him ten games to adapt and he’ll show the world just how good he is.

This Kyogo talk got me thinking about Shunsuke Nakamura, just checked, seems to still be playing at 43. Legend.

Not even the oldest player in his team, Miura is in his 50s. Wonderful player who could probably play the violin with his left foot.

I'm hoping Andres Iniesta is missing his pal Kyogo, would bring him in in an instant as player-assistant manager or something.

These hot takes about Grealish are crazy, the dude is clearly top notch. City would have studied all of the stats and performances before sticking all that dosh down.

It is the first game of the season, people need to let it percolate a bit before drawing conclusions.

Well, all afternoon there had been talk of what a model professional Kane is, and even talk of how he's self-isolating that's why he's not playing.  Not a huge amount of condemnation of him for trying to force a move by effectively going on strike.

When Pogba was brought up, Souness dismissed his performance, getting four assists, as no more than should be expected considering his price tag, then they started talking about how Pogba was probably going to leave United at the end of the season.  They started talking about Pogba's agent constantly talking about Pogba moving. Richards made the point that despite what his agent says, Pogba has never made himself unavailable, or talked up a move elsewhere himself, that he always plays and tries to help his team win, so why doesn't he get called a model professional? I don't know if Richards' point was completely correct, but he does have a point about the bias some pundits have against Pogba (he was obviously aiming at Souness) and said they're supposed to be neutral. He asked why it might be that the likes of Pogba are treated differently than the likes of Kane by the Sky pundits, and that weasel presenter insisted that they move on.

You may be right. I just don't think he's the second coming. Stats aren't everything.
