Well done to Wales. Thought that penalty shout for Ukraine was going to be given, soft as it might have been it'd have been a free elsewhere.

But Hennessy would probably have saved it, he had an excellent game.

I think Ireland will do well to get anything out of their two matches with Ukraine over the next couple of weeks, they're a class above.

That's strange. I think it was a foul, but I'm sure Kane was offside. That didn't seem to be checked, though.

Yeah it seemed clearly offside. It did seem like for some reason they forgot to check that?!?

I was surprised at the intensity of the match. The first few minutes were frenetic. Impressive considering they could have been forgiven for being mentally on the beach, but they kept running and in the end England deserved their equaliser.

Absolutely offside and I'm baffled why it wasn't checked - or if it was, what justification was given to ignore it.

It's not even marginal.

Edit: though looking at it again now from another angle I think it's actually a defender that plays the ball to Kane, not Sterling with a flick as I assumed. I think we've been fooled by the camera angle and the speed of the play.

Yeah it came off the defender and I believe as long as it was deliberate then it rules out a potential offside. Still looked weird.

My head's fully gone at someone on Twitter claiming that Harry Kane has had a better overall career than Wayne Rooney.

I mean that’s true, if you use absolutely no conceivable measurable metrics.

He's probably had a better England career hasn't he? But club career Rooney is obviously miles ahead.

He’s definitely been better for England than Rooney, especially as Southgate’s England really don’t play to his strengths at all, watching Kane play for England just frustrates me.

I mean, he is England's all-time top scorer...

The scourge of San Marino.

You have to feel sorry for Uruguay, the shame of being the only team Rooney scored a WC finals goal against.
