It’s a fun time to be an England fan. Everyone else in the world is wanting Scotland then Wales to lose too.

(except the Scottish, and I suppose the Welsh might prefer to play Scotland than a motivated Ukraine?)

(normally I’d prefer Scotland or wales to get through, just because it makes the tournament more fun in the U.K., but not today)

Scotland have been dreadful so far.  Ukraine far superior, especially the two wingers completely dominant.

I have no idea why, as a team whose strength is in midfield, we're launching exocet missiles up to Lyndon Dykes.

On the positive side, if it continues like this you wouldn’t get embarrassed by Wales?

I posted this just before a Ukrainian player ran past three Scots, passed it to the line, saw a Ukrainian knock it back then cross it for goal two.

Scotland are appalling, sorry.

Ukraine can score 4 or 5 if they want to here, vastly superior against a completely amateurish shambles.

Clarke selected his tactics by throwing darts at a tactics board I think.

That McGinn miss. Symptomatic of how dreadful Scotland have been. Ukraine have just put a 30+ passing move together and are making Scotland look very poor.

Need a goal to go in off someone’s arse  to get back in this.

Or a keeper to flap at a shot…

yeah, but Scotland don’t actually look like getting a second without some fluky luck.

The FAW have given free tickets for the Wales V Ukraine game on Sunday to the refugee lady and her fiancee staying with us, I thought it was a really nice gesture, she asked who I was supporting and I just gave her a strange look and she started laughing.

Nice to see her smiling, she's from the Donbas region and was quite upset when she saw video of it earlier in the week.

That’s a nice gesture.

I had tickets, but we are on holiday and my football mad Welsh son isn’t so annoyed he is missing it now as he doesn’t really fancy watching either Wales failing to qualify for the World Cup OR cheering on Wales as they beat Ukraine.

I reckon it’s 50/50 who will win. No war and I’d favour Wales at home, but too hard to call.  Wales are better than Scotland and that desire to get to a a World Cup will burn brighter given how long it’s been, but Ukraine’s desire is going to be on a different level and will the Welsh players be subconsciously impacted by who their opponents are?

Hopefully the Bale question will get resolved soon afterwards as I’m

tired on non Cardiff fans who I know in Cardiff telling me he is 100% joining and they might start coming to watch us if he does.

Ireland controlling the game in Armenia but the only chance of note was Ogbene's free header just before half time, which should have been at least troubling the keeper.

There's been some good movement and Collins has looked solid in defence. Just need to get space to get a shot away against a massed Armenian defence.

That pattern didn't continue in the second half. Armenia grew in confidence, attacked fairly well on the counter, had one disallowed for a clear offside (but a beautiful finish) then scored a cracker from range. Ireland had no answer.

Scotland and Ukraine won't defend in as many numbers as Armenia, nor will they play in as hot conditions, but an improvement is certainly needed in attack. By the end they were just floating balls into the box and seeing them headed right back out.
