Huddersfield fans must be livid.

Forest are crumbling, staggering towards the finish line. They can't keep the ball, and they seem to be trying to pull Huddersfield in to hit them on the break, but don't seem capable of actually launching any counters.  If it goes to extra time, it'll definitely be a Huddersfield win.

I can't believe Forest won that. Neither team managed a shot on target, there was barely a chance. Huddersfield should have had at least one penalty, possibly two.  I'm absolutely delighted for them though. It'll be great to see them back in the Premier League next season.

You should've seen the ones we didn't get in in each leg of the semis as well. It's been a throwback to the officiating we got in the Premier League without even having to get there, heh. Toffolo involved in three of them too.

I kept saying during the game we didn't deserve to win today but you're right, Forest really created nothing either. Typical grim playoff final really and cruel for it to be decided on an own goal from a young lad who's had a great season by all accounts. I say by all accounts because I've sort of fallen out of love with football over the last few years with one thing and another, so have only been following things very casually.. This certainly doesn't hurt anything like as much as the last time we lost a final and that's a bit sad for me in some ways.

Pleased for the decent Forest fans out there, I was happy it was them rather than Sheffield Utd who've had quite a few bites at it over the years.

And we lost. FcSchaffhausen lost 0-2, so that's going to be another year in the Challenge League. Well, it was completely unexpected for us to even be here, so...

And that means we'll have plenty of seats again next year and next to no queues at all.

As an added bonus, my friends just mentioned that the supporters specially organised train home just took a wrong turn and is now heading in the opposite direction... A fitting end to the season.:hat:

I don't think any blame at all can be attached to the defender who scored the own goal. There wasn't much else he could do - the pass and the run put him in an impossible position.

Oh no, not at all. But it's still a pretty awful thing for a young kid to have to deal with in such a massively hyped match with that much on the line. Kind of just human nature to be like 'what if I'd done something different' for a while even if everyone else is telling you not to beat yourself up over it.

I guess I'm more sad about that and the pens than losing really.. Having a load of what ifs and possible injustices to think about is much worse than just being battered by a better team, but that's football I guess.

Given I've lived in Nottingham for the past ten years, and that half of my family are from Saint-Etienne, my social media is a deeply confused place to be right now.

I've always been adamant that the Barca trio of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta are the best midfield 3 of all time. After this result surely we have to question that? The Madrid 3 were immense yet again! And they have had more success in the Champions League.

Probably their final swansong at their ages, not a bad way to go out.

From a defensive perspective I would say Casemiro is easily clear of Busquets. Iniesta at his peak was better than Kroos, albeit quite different players, but Kroos has performed at the highest level for a lot longer. And as fantastic as Xavi was, I am inclined to say Modric is the best player of the lot tbh.
