They might have to recall a few of their 20-odd loanees. Conor Gallagher could actually be a plus for them.

It certainly worked well for them before when they had the two window transfer ban. Had some very good players come through during that period.

How many missed payments of wages would it take to invalidate a player's contract? I can only imagine that their agents will be looking to get them out at the first opportunity, and unless Chelsea have massive reserves already in the bank - from what I've read, they don't - they won't be able to keep paying them for very long.

They'll be able to build up debt to keep players and staff paid, won't they? After the mention in parliament about it being about community etc I can't imagine the sanctions would prevent people being paid, just stops them re-negotiating contracts and buying players I think?

No, they can't have him back.

They can have a lend of Benteke if they want.

I’d rather he stayed at Palace. A club on the up would be better for his career.

They can pay people out of the money they have already, but once that's run out they're fucked. That's my understanding anyway.

You would hope the government would step in to help the non playing staff, but given the state of our government right now, that seems unlikely.

The government aren’t going to let Chelsea fail. I expect the club to be given enough leeway to make sure everyone is paid and it completes the season before being sold at a knockdown price to a Tory donor. Having said that

Some of the minutiae of the sanctions explained by Chelsea fans.  Seems that nobody really knows exactly what the sanctions mean yet, and they fully expect the restrictions Chelsea have on them to change suddenly and often, but it’s still worth 15 minutes of your time if you’re interested in this sort of thing.

I know you wrote that as a joke but I doubt that the linking of two Tory donors, including one of Johnson’s ex-campaign chairs, to a purchase is a coincidence.

It's Craig Gordon, his reactions are a little slow.

It’s a shitpinger of a strike; I just couldn’t fathom how it ended up in the bottom corner. Hoping there’s an angle from behind the shot to get a full appreciation of the wazz involved.

(John Gregory was once a pundit on ART and described a curled shot as having ‘plenty of wazz on it’)

After yesterdays game Ronaldo said:

"We've proven once again that we can beat any team in any given day, as long as we work hard and stand together as one. There are no limits for Man United! No matter what! Let's go, Devils!"

Which I think is quite funny. I mean you’ve proven you can beat Spurs (which is a good result), but that’s about it. You’ve also proven lots of times this season you can lose to anyone, and that you’re very inconsistent.
