Yeah I tried every method under the Mexican sun and no dice. I wouldn’t be that bothered as there’s still enough to get the weekly rewards by doing the other championships and stuff, but it means that we have to wait yet another month to have a chance at the achievement for completing all objectives in a series. 🤬

Love the game but they ain’t half made a balls up with all these niggling little bugs that are infesting it at the moment.

That would have got me the second seasonal prize which I now can't get without the multiplayer stuff, and I'm physically repulsed by the notion of playing with other human beings.

I didn't realize they were turning it off. I still do it because my son wanted to do the hot wheels expansion, and I realized I had years worth of unclaimed credits, presumably dating back to FH4 release. Raked in 20 odd million and haven't had the patience to finish collecting it all yet.

I honestly keep forgetting but I mean the games are pretty generous with credits and xp anyway.

God I hope the DLC for this is good, it's been a bit of a slog this past week.

I love my Series X. Absolutely wonderful console and MS have completely got the right idea with it. But releasing their flagship titles in this state, and also Halo Infinite with its fair share of bugs, really isn't a good look - especially on Gamepass where everyone gets to play them. It's great that we had Forza and Halo for Christmas, but when they're sloppily rushed out of the door it just looks like MS don't care about their most important titles.

It's so frustrating that Forza is so broken at the moment because when it works it's fantastic. If it wasn't for the seasonal FOMO I'd just come back in the new year.

Ironically it's probably the seasons that's constantly stressing their servers

Right so it IS Snowmen even though tracking says air skills. Oh, and if you're not holding the accelerator it doesn't count.

For fucks sake.

As someone up thread mentioned, go to solo and use rewind to get the 25. The candy canes can be done in the arena ice rink. There are also trees in the arena and in Guanajuato, but you might be best just doing the area, quitting then starting again. As long as the tracking doesn't forget your tally...

Yeah, I noticed that text difference on pinning the accolade.

Cheers @Anjin on the speed trap tip - did that and cleaned them all up.  It's a sign of the lack of polish that completing all speed zones, speed traps and drift zones doesn't give you enough stars to ping the achievement.  Needed to do two trailblazers.

Further patch incoming today, apparently.

Waitasec... When you track the Mazda Accolade it says candy canes, trees and air skills, not snowmen?

Try the one about air skills in 1 minute in the ice rink, the tracking will tell you to own a Toyota and do 100,000 points with an Escort.

The trees one is utterly broken too, maybe 1 in 4 trees actually counts as a tree, and yes they were all christmas trees and I obliterated them.

I gave up for my own sanity and started mopping up roads I've not driven. I got to the Mercedes in the season and I'm not even going to try for the other one.

The development hell of Halo is well documented but it’s hard to understand why the 5th Horizon game by the same development team has released in such a state.

Yeah. Actually knowing nothing, but speculating as we all are, it feels like a date was announced for strategic purposes back at E3 and then they just couldn't hit it. I mean, you either delay it (bad for GP leading up to holidays), do crunch, or ship it as it is. That they don't seem to be doing crunch to bang out hotfixes is telling.

How big is Playground Games? Did they essentially start work on FH5 once FH4 was out the door, with some smaller team handling the DLC/content updates for 4? Even if the pivot was immediate, a big chunk of the development of 5 has likely been remote during the pandemic. During that time they integrated with Xbox Game Studios, which may have impacted workflows.

I've got a bug in Windows 11, using the built-in driver because Brother doesn't have a separate one, that means double sided printing doesn't work properly. I'm reading book series where the next volume has been delayed by months (at the printing stage). The latter definitely a pandemic supply chain thing.

I'm as disappointed at this stuff as anyone else, but I'm not sure I'd use descriptions like "sloppily", and "rushed". It definitely needed more time in the oven, though.

The problems stink of some sort of server migration issues, maybe moving to MS infrastructure or cloud migrations, along with the legacy codebase that's been around possibly the first game and as @TehStu says remote working during this period has potentially led to these bugs.

It’s weird how it deteriorated though.
