Planet of Lana

A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature and animal has now become something else entirely.

The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war.

This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet –and the journey to keep it that way.

Planet of Lana is a cinematic puzzle adventure coming to Xbox & PC in 2022.

Yep, I'll be having some of that, although that cat thing is definitely going to turn into some horrific monster at some point.

It's a shame we haven't got a release date yet beyond 'this year", and didn't notice any mention of Game Pass in that trailer - wasn't this originally pegged for Game Pass?

Demo available on Steam.

It is just as delightful and charming as I'd hoped it would be. After my disappointment with Somerville, the demo of Lana is considerably more encouraging :)

Edit: Lovely little demo. Short and sweet. The gameplay isn't much different from other games in this genre, but it's a gorgeous looking thing, and the music is absolutely fantastic. If it hadn't been on my wish list for a couple of years, I'd be putting it on right now!

Don't suppose you know if there's going to be an Xbox demo available? I had a quick Google and it seems they showed off 10 minutes of gameplay at an ID@Xbox event, but no mention of a demo that I can see and no footage from the event.

I was disappointed with Somerville like you, so I'm hoping this is in a better state than how that got released.

Played the demo and it felt like a cross between Another World and A Boy and His Blob. Would have been day one for me but with GamePass I'll be playing it there day one.

Highly recommended.

There's a neat little touch that I loved, when climbing on crates you don't need to do the thing where you find the edge of the crate and then climb, you can climb any face of it including the one facing the screen.

That little cat blob is the cutest thing too.

Hurrah! I abstained from the demo, so I'm looking forward to this.
