Nintendo Switch OLED - who needs 4k, dat screen

I was always confused with how great Nintendo is in designing products, and yet they skimp out and put a shitty piece of plastic for a stand. It should have always been like a Surface type stand from the get go.

After the abject failure of the Wii U though, I guess they wanted to cut as many costs as they could, having no idea if it would be a failure or success, perhaps?

But then you have to have that half-cm of clear space in the casing all the way across, instead of just at the one little strip. The current Switch stand is basically carved out of a little bit where there’s not much inside the console. (Which is part of why it’s so unstable of course, the side without the stand is heavier.)

Not that I’m saying it’s a good design of course, but I can see how they got there and why it’s not a different one.

I know I was joking, it doesn't make design wise sense as it barely works but I can see you're and Mikebeaver's point.

As the only switch owner who actually uses it in desktop mode I quickly discovered the kick stand was shit as soon as the train I was on started moving. I promptly got a desktop style case (that's BOTW themed) and haven't looked back since.

The whole design of the Switch is pretty terrible really. There’s the useless stand, which you’ve already mentioned, but the way the joycons attach is really flimsy, there’s bad stick drift and disconnection, the cheap screen and the overall build quality really lets it down. I’d welcome a premium model, even if it’ll only be ever used in dock mode.

I don't have an issues with the joycons attaching myself, its not perfect but I can't see any other way they could have done it without increasing costs. Like I said, its not perfect but it works, joy con drift is a legitimate problem but again managed to fix sis's before her's died due to niece dropping it on the floor playing Mario.

I’d you only ever use it in docked mode none of things you’re complaining about are in any way relevant.
