It’s too late in the day. There will be a text-only press release at a convenient time for the Japanese business papers that’s just these three paragraphs:

”Nintendo is making so much money.

There’s a more powerful Switch that does 4K and has an OLED screen. It will be on sale in Q3 with prices and release dates to be announced.

Watch Nintendo Direct for new ways to give us money.”

And then they’ll quietly upload some press kit photos the following week that will look exactly like the current Switch so nobody will notice.

If it gets revealed today it's most likely just a small video or press release.

Multiple sources (Amazon, Best Buy) have said it will be up for pre orders tomorrow.

However, one game dev has said prepare to be disappointed - either it's not going to be much more powerful or it's not getting announced later.

I would be surprised if it was a great deal more capable than just playing Switch-grade games in 4K, while docked. I think some people have worked themselves in to a lather over its supposed capabilities.

Maybe with a thinner bezel. Maybe.

The only thing is that apparently 3rd partys will have switch "pro" games only which to me makes it sound like it will be more powerful. Hopefully we find out later tonight.

I was excited at first but then I was thinking we're not going to see a massive leap in graphics . I can see graphic fidelity being cleaner, smoother frame rates, but I can't think of anything else that makes me go wow I need this - not that I could get it.

We are approaching gonad-wagering levels here people, simmer down. It’s just the GBA SP again.

I will bet my testicles that an upgraded version of the switch launches at some point in the future.
