Nintendo Switch OLED - who needs 4k, dat screen

Recommended Posts

Nintendo store delivered, despite only ordering at 7pm Wednesday evening.

As someone who was on the fence and cancelled my original pre-order I'm glad I got sucked back in - really feels like a different device entirely. The closest thing I can compare it to is when I went from my Moto G4 with it's plasticky screen and cheap feel to a then brand new iPhone 6.

Looks lovely I’m a sucker for a new toy but I don’t play un docked nor do I use the controllers please don’t tell me there is a .5mhz speed improvement that renders my mario red switch old tech

If you don’t play in handheld then all you’ll really get is larger storage (64gb) and a nicer dock with a LAN port, that’s it.

But when you see it you will want to play handheld more.

Protip: if you already have one of the official cases for your old switch, you don’t need to get the new one. If anything, it fits in the new case slightly better with the slightly extra width.

But the new one has a lovely white trim to match the new console.....

Can I just ask about the transfer process of game saves, installed games etc. Can I just move my memory card over to the new one ?? Does it have cloud saves ??

IF you go back a few pages there's info on how to migrate your stuff from your old Switch (as per your other post).

That must be like a massive fan heater.

I haven’t had any overheats yet, though I keep the front down during play. On the times I’ve forgotten too it gets pretty warm in there but no shut down.

PS4 Pro and X1X both shut down when I forgot in the past.

The screen is gorgeous, and the kickstand is actually useable

Tip with the screen: turn off auto brightness, because it seems to lower the max brightness a bit too much for my liking. I also switched from vivid to standard colours as they looked a bit garish.
