Is it pretty easy for me to sign into my old and then the OLED switch at the same time and access the digital games on both?

Or is there the usual Please Understand methodology to contend with?

You can sign into both machines and play games on both but you won’t be able to play the same game simultaneously. I’m not sure about different games though.

Is anyone going to use a screen protector or are you going naked? I’m undecided.

Screen protectors look shit. I’ve never had scratches on my switches screens, though granted I don’t take it out the house that much.

I’ve had one on my original model since launch and don’t mind it. Also, having a child makes me nervous about it but she’s pretty careful so I might not bother.

Never needed one on any previous Nintendo console so no, not going to bother.

Has anyone ordered from Currys? Does your order say anything other than “order received”.

They initially said they would deliver mine last Saturday (which I knew was bullshit) then emailed to say it was delayed.

Now I have no idea when it’s coming and we go away for a week on Friday night. Not sure if I should just cancel it and try and get one when we come back.

I've still not bought a Switch – I was waiting for a "proper" Pro or maybe a cheaper, dock only version - I've never really got on with handhelds.

Should I give up yet?

The original Switch is still the best console ever made, and if you never use handhelds I guarantee you will with Switch, even if just now and again, and the new OLED screen is the biggest and best screen that’s ever graced any handheld games console.

Seriously though it has the greatest gaming library there has ever been and you’re doing yourself a disservice by not owning one :)

I've had something odd happen. Nintendo seem to have charged me £66.18 on the day I placed my preorder for this. Is this a deposit or something?

Did you pay using Klarna? I was charged the full amount in one go £359 (with Metroid).

No it was just using my debit card. Really weird.... I can't find any other transactions that match the value on that day

That’s a curious decision, seeing as the boffins in here have already confidently predicted a 4K Switch is simply not possible.

I think it was because Nintendo said there wouldn't be one?  - fake news?

As for the port and cable. Maybe it was just easier to get hold of the newer ports and cable hardware. I cannot imagine them being any more expensive than the old ones.

Of course there will be more powerful hardware in the future. I personally think they will come up with a whole new console though, but what do I know.

Possible now and possible some time in the future are two entirely different things. A 4K Switch will definitely arrive when the time is right, I don’t believe anyone here has said anything to the contrary.

Nintendo’s reasoning is clear, as always. It knows a high percentage of its customer base will literally buy anything, so they are iterating the product for commercial reasons not technological ones, it’s plain as day.

Why sell you two Switches when they can sell you three? We may even see a double stand model before we get the real deal - then they can sell you four. :sherlock:
