And then they abandoned 3D altogether, Nintendo ladies & gentlemen.

They didn't abandon it, they just released a version that didn't support it. All Nintendo published games bar Detective Picachu and Hey! Pikmin (maybe there are others) continued to have 3D up until the point they dropped it, I think.

If the Switch Pro has a 3D screen I will lose my shit. But it won't, so I'll keep my shit sadly.

Well they discontinued the 3DS entirely, replacing it with the New 2DS.

Am I the only one not fussed? Switch is great as is, save for maybe the screen not being OLED - and docking it fixes that. My tired old eyes can’t tell the difference between HD and 4K.

No, they kept the 3DS XL model going and just dropped the regular size.

Until they replaced it with the 2DS XL.

Edit - No wait there wasn’t a New 2DS was there? I need to draw a diagram.

Yeah, you’re right, the New 2DS XL and New 3DS XL were in production together until the end.

I adored the Switch for its first two years post-launch, but bar a brief and intense fling with AC:NH in the first lockdown, I’ve barely turned it on in the last two years.

So, unless BotW2 is infinitely better on the Pro, I’ll be fine without.

That was a wild ride

Not buying any new Nintendo hardware until the next new Mario is out. Perhaps Zelda. Although wasn't keen on BoTW.

Enjoyed my Switch while I had it but waiting for more new software from Nintendo before I buy back in again. Happy to wait. Hopefully these silly chip shortages will sort themselves out by next year. Also I'd rather have a proper old school Nintendo console and not a IMHO compromised one for a portable system. Even a 4K system without the screen. Make it the same price as the Switch I might bite. I don't need a portable Ninty machine. I know it won't happen as the runaway success of the Switch has proved it will be hybrids all the way going forward.

I am completely satisfied with the Switch as it is and see very little reason to upgrade and will naturally be there day one.

Nope. Me to

Also, there is no Switch Pro. It makes absolutely zero business sense and seems to have been conjured up by man babies who cry because they can’t play BOTW in 4K

Unless there's an increase in processing and/or graphical power, then I don't think I'll be buying, not at launch, anyway. An OLED screen would be nice, but I hardly ever use mine portable anyway. Have Nintendo ever released anything with an OLED screen? It just doesn't seem a very Nintendo thing to do.
