I have little doubt that Nintendo are petty enough to have had an announcement all lined up and just decided to cancel it to make that Twitter account look bad.

Amazon have dropped the price of the Switch to it's lowest ever (by some margin) of £266 today. Clearing out stock perhaps??

I probably haven't followed this as closely as others but I don't think there is a Switch Pro, more of a revamped switch so the drop of price might account for this

 

Maybe a "New Nintendo Switch"....

 

That said I don't feel any need to upgrade mine provided future games continue to work on it.

On a serious note. Richard Leadbetter has talked about this during the DF weekly updates. 

He's pointed out before that there is evidence of a newer model coming, as documentation was found in the latest firmware update...

but it points to there just being an OLED screen with no stipulation of an upgraded chip set, at all. 

 

I can't help but feel that this will be just like the chip "upgrade" we saw before. There's no new "SKU" it's just the Switch... with a better screen in it.

Maybe the “4K” stuff will just be in the dock. It doesn’t need to play the games in 4K on a 720p screen after all.

Kinda goes against the "3rd partys waiting for nintendo to announce pro before announcing their games" though.

 

Nintendo needs to do something as well if they want to keep their fornite playerbase.
