That's okay as winning it 1-0 with such an early goal is like getting promoted on last day with a 0-0 draw.

You want that match winning goal late on. Kane 88th minute

England would need some possession first and then Kane would have to be in the box

This has been coming since about 30 mins in. They were going to score, it's baffling that we seemed to be holding on.

We could end up 3 or 4 down at this rate.

Aside from the early goal this is the most standard England performance I’ve ever seen. Haven’t watched a match for about four years and this is exactly what I expected.

Why is Rice coming off?

I feel while he's breaking up play and turning well he isn't then delivering final balls.

Where as Mount is still on the pitch and he's done less!

I don’t understand how we were told we were all over them by going wide both sides, no changes were made half time, and suddenly it wasn’t working.

That’s what Mancini is for. The whole point of the manager is to identify and address your teams deficiencies in the match up during half time.

Looks like Italy are hounding England every time they get the ball, vs the first half they left them mostly alone

But where’s the anticipation and assumption from the England manager to counter the potential change?

Southgate isn't going to put more attacking players on until it's forced on him. He is an incredibly cautious coach. The only reason Saka is on is because he can do a job in either direction.
