You’re probably mostly going against bots then. When we turned off cross play at the system level we found we were getting in games with about 6 human players.

 

Ive had bots 1 shot me across the map out of helicopters at full speed, or a few times I’ve been killed by them before my camera has even finished zooming in from the spawn select screen.

What is it people don’t like about the specialists? 
Is the alternative to have the abilities equitable by a custom character? Is that what people want?

 

I’m still finding it rather moreish. I’ve kinda hit my groove a little and I’m capable of changing the entire flow of the game now and again.

 

It does definitely feel unfinished. I have sympathy for the argument about map size too. Maybe conquest has had its day and that’s the thing that’s got to go.

I wish you could power slide down slopes.

I don't even understand the specialists. They go against everything I like in the series. 

 

I just like my shit streamlined. If I want to take out vehicles I pick engineer, heal people, pick a medic. Certain guns tied to these classes.

 

With the UI being utterly fucking atrocious and perhaps the worse I have ever seen in a shooter I don't know what character does what. Basically they can pick any loadout they want but have a distinct gadget or some pish?

 

I tried portal and didn't even know how to customize my guns. I just want a clean menu where I pick a gun and can customise it before a match and clearly see what I'm doing within a few clicks. 

 

Still hanging off on a refund. Going to give it an hour or two. But it ain't looking good.

I'm almost feeling weird for liking this so much - can't stop playing it though. 

 

Been a casual player of every Battlefield game since 1942, don't think I have missed one apart from BF2 on the XBox 360 (I think that's what it was called) and I am really enjoying myself... Dunno what to say really :lol: 

 

Glad I am loving it tremendously yet feeling genuinely unsettled that no one else is.

The drone will be next. You just drop it above an objective and it a) carries on spotting while you just sit in a bush and b) distracts all the AI, particularly the robodogs who can't hit it.

I've found specialists that fit my groove (Angel), people are hanging around for revives, the ability to carry any weapon isn't impacting my joy, the loss of classes is less calamitous than I thought it would be when playing with 100% randoms, turning off cross play on PS5 has not left me playing in empty servers so the population is healthy and Breakthrough removes all the issues I had with map size from the beta.

 

I can see all the broken bits, but they're fixable, and I can see the things that are missing and they're fixable too (mainly UI). The launch is better than BF4's at this point (the game actually works, which took about 4-6 weeks to fix back then), so it's all good!

What I did turn off cross play, play breakthrough and BF Bad Company 2 rush.

 

Happy days especially Rush. More rush maps the better so many good memories. Never really liked Conquest prefer the more focused adjectives game types .

 

The funny thing is rush played better than the new maps .  And just 4 classes to pick from.

And with that im done. I really tried. 

 

Feels sad really, hope this isnt my love affair with BF at an end. I will check it out again when it hits gamepass or can get it very cheap in 6 months. Im not willing to put up with the issues on a clearly unfinished game. I will give them my time when they deserve it.

Every battlefield until now: You need health? Find a medic. Need ammo? Find support. Need a repair? Find an engineer.

 

Now? Who knows what anyone has since every character can carry any load out. You have no idea if your squad is setup to cover all support bases.

I’ve not played the game yet since a brief go on the beta. Do players not have icons that might show loadout? That would get around the removal of classes to some extent if a player has a cross over their head showing they were carrying health or something.

Once you get Sundance and her floating ability down you can do some pretty amazing stuff.

I fly down on to tanks, like an eagle looking for prey. Bit if c5 and they’re gone with out even seeing me.

 

 This morning I got the desert map 4 times in a row 😕

Theres a tank with I saw for the first time today and it was so fast it’s almost unstoppable.

That’s the worst map I’ve played so far. Hovercrafts are unstoppable. There’s almost no verticality on breakthrough.

Not sure why it can kill you back but you can see in the death ticker on the left that it's not normal.

 

Mine was 100% not AI. I emptied a clip I to his face and he shook his head at me :D
