Glass Onion (Knives Out 2)

I really liked Knives Out but agree that Craig's character was certainly one of the lesser attractions. It was the De Armas/Plummer double act that really sold the film to me.

Will be interesting to see how they handle the sequel and if they push Blanc to the fore, erm, more.

EDIT: Just seen it's set in Greece. I want the FULL CAST of Mamma Mia in it.

Sure the setup can handle it, but Beniot Blanc investigating a new case is an entirely different proposition to something brand new with all the surprises that brings.  That balance seems to be weighted a bit too heavily in favour of films that are more of the same with familiar characters, so it was nice to get a big, successful film that was back to what I think films do best - stand alone stories.  I'd much rather have another new idea from the creators of Knives Out.

I wouldnt be surprised if Rian isn’t a huge classic Poirot fan, especially the Ustinov films. Knives obviously smacked of Agatha Christie and with the news now that the sequel will be shot in Greece, that seals the deal for me. I don’t see any reason why a series of these types of films won’t do spectacularly well. Ustinov’s two films are classics imo and his Poirot portrayal my favourite. If the sequel is a sun kissed homage to Evil Under the Sun with an all star cast, I’ll be very happy indeed!

Obviously not the case after all, but I thought I’d read that it was going to feature more or less the same cast but in new roles.

I think The Internet decided that, and didn't listen to Johnson's announcements.

Empire have some character details

The story is about a group of old acquaintances brought to Greece by a rich friend for a murder mystery game which gets real.

Johnson also says that the movie isn't about the income divide, but it plays a huge part in it, which is more timely by the day.

Looks like cinemas are thawing on the Netflix hate. Last week they announced this would get a cinema release in the three major cinema groups in the US and today that it'll be in Vue and Cineworld in the UK from 23-29 November.

Well that was fine. It’s not bad by any means but I don’t think it’s as anywhere as good as knives out.

Certainly didn’t hate it, and the 2 hours flew by, but every element was slightly worse or worse than the first.

Well this is frustrating. Searching for cinemas playing it and for whatever reason all my closest cinemas aren't.

The closest is York, then Gateshead and everything in between nothing. There's literally 4 big multiplex and 3 independent cinemas between those two places and none of them are showing it.

Xmas day, Netflix it is then.
