Things sure have escalated since I was at primary school and traded a Mars Bar for a foil panini sticker.

Also I think panini stickers are like 80p a pack now? For 5 stickers I think. It was 20p for 6 when I was at school - and the stickers were bigger (or at least that's my rose tinted memory).

So were the Mars Bars!

Maybe everyone should play Pro Evo instead. It has it's ultimate team like mode, but they absolutely shower you with players, that you'd never need to spend money to have a half decent team. Plus, it plays a far better game.

myclub is beyond shit, though. It's massively overcomplicated.

This suggests a sports betting site could circumvent gambling laws by giving you some token consolation prize for every losing bet.

Or claim that someone who bets £50 on the Home Team, the Away Team and the Draw in the same game isn't gambling as they will 100% win some money on one of the bets*

*but almost certainly make a net loss unless the away team win is very high odds.

There are all manner of things in place for EA and everyone else that uses these system to justify it. Even the argument of pay-to-win can be waved away with the ridiculous defence that 'well you can do it all using in game coins'... but it will take you longer than the life of this games annual market to do that.

EA have made the mechanics of financial markets crashing an annual event in their games and that is every bit as bad as the lower level gambling side of it. At its core its just fucking poison and for years has held back so many games from actually developing beyond new and magical ways to leech money from people. I've spiralled into several rants on this subject over the years with my most recent one being around the number of versions of the same player that get released for no other reason that fucking £££, which boils down to micro level market resets inside the larger annual market reset.

Its really simple. Its gambling and there is no defending it but like others have said the revenue it generates is so ridiculous that we are sadly never going to see it change.
