Sonic Mania nailed it. It's a slotmask effect, which is integer-scaled perfectly, as to not enforce any horizontal banding.

You mean they're the same upscaled resolution as 16-bit assets? The Shredder's Revenge display output is also an integer-upscale of the typical 240p resolution, so I've no idea why they couldn't scale even just simple overlays properly over the top:

Both Blashphemous and the Mega Man Legacy Collection have great CRT style filter options too. I seem to remember MMLC even has image ghosting & proper fuzziness to its sprites.

It says that BT controllers are supported on the game page, so you can play with a PS or Xbox controller on mobile.

Installed this yesterday. It's a proper nostalgia treat, absolutely brilliant stuff.

 

Played 3 player with me and my daughter on my Series X before my mate joined us online, it's an absolute blast.

 

I have no idea why I waited so long to try it out!
